Excellent and friendly service, outstanding and delicious food, superior personal attention by manager
Excellent food, as we have come to expect. Service, unfortunately, was not at top level and keeps me from rating this as "excellent" overall. Will most definitely return, however, as this remains our favorite restaurant in the area.
after arriving, the hostess told me the reservation person who had phoned me earlier that day had not noted that we wanted to sit inside because it was too hot outside that day, she put me at a table for 4 even though my reservation was for three. after all in our party had arrived, the three of us, we sat for 25 minutes before I called over the bartender and mentioned we were all here and would like to be served. A really delightful, unexpected experience. I was travelling for work and never expected to find this lovely, old-world Italian bistro in the mid-west. Lovely ambience, exceptional serving staff and 1/2 price wine by the bottle on Mon-Tues. Try the Calimari as an appie and the veal stuffed with spinach, pine nuts and egg with heirloom tomatoes.
Bartolotta is always our choice for special occasions and they never dissapoint. This visit was for our anniversary, and everything was perfect. We started with a Mozzarella appetizer with tomatoes and olives broiled to the point of melted perfection and served on toasted bread. Salad was a simple mix of greens with oil and a sprinkling of sea salt. Our entrees, spinach ravioli and a filet, were wonderful. I substituted the carmelized Brussels sprouts with my steak--awesome. Every time we have been here for dinner the experience has been fantastic, and I mean fantastic! The service, food presentation, and the food itself, has always been excellent, not to mention the wide selection of wines. That is why Monday or Tuesday night is a bonus with half price wine under $100.00. Ristorante Bartolotta flourishes under the management of the General Manager, Marc Beaudoin. His warmth, friendliness and competence is apparent in the wonderful dining experience. The Seasonal Chef's Menu offers an amazing dish - Paccheri di Gragnano ai Piselli e Guanciale (large tubes of pasta sauteed with cured pork, spring peas, cherry tomatoes & pressed ricotta)!
