Every time we have been here for dinner the experience has been fantastic, and I mean fantastic! The service, food presentation, and the food itself, has always been excellent, not to mention the wide selection of wines. That is why Monday or Tuesday night is a bonus with half price wine under $100.00. Ristorante Bartolotta flourishes under the management of the General Manager, Marc Beaudoin. His warmth, friendliness and competence is apparent in the wonderful dining experience. The Seasonal Chef's Menu offers an amazing dish - Paccheri di Gragnano ai Piselli e Guanciale (large tubes of pasta sauteed with cured pork, spring peas, cherry tomatoes & pressed ricotta)! Everything we hoped for. Truly authentic but also seasonal and local. More informal than imagined.
Ristorante Bartolotta is always good, but the chef and the kitchen staff outdid themselves with the meal we had on Friday evening. The salads were fresh as could be and flavorful. We chose the catch of the day which to our delight was swordfish. It was perfectly cooked and served with a mild tomato-olive sauce. I was surprised that the restaurant was so busy on a Monday night. There were seven other tables when we walked in just before 6:30. It is hard to tell how the traffic will be driving up from Chicago so inevitably we arrived almost an hour early for our reservation however they sat us right away. Creative, interesting and perfectly delicious Italian cuisine. All Italian wine List easier to negotiate with help of sommelier that Helped us pick perfect bottle. Playfully challenged staff on quality of tiramisu dessert compared to best I ever had in Greenwich Village, NYC. It was SUPERB just like rest of the meal.
Ristorante Bartolotta is, and continues to be, one of our favorites. The menu changes regularly, and is always interesting. Service is always excellent, friendly and efficient. The servers at Ristorante Bartolotta are always well-informed and knowledgeable, and seem not to know the word "no." The prix fixe menu is a great value, but the ala carte flexibility is a major plus.
