This is a very attractive restaurant. We looked forward to something a bit more sophisticated than what we usually eat when we visit Milwaukee. There are white table cloths and sparkling lights and a very pleasant wait staff. However, the tables are so close together that you cannot help but be a bit uncomfortable with your neighbors' conversation. Everything was fine except our table was exceptionally cold. This also affected the food temperature after a while. It also caused us to put on our coats. The servers requested the manager to increase the heat but it did not have much affect. Our table was the corner booth by the front entrance.
Poor service, food was very good, but not worth the price. The fish of the day on the seafood plate was terrible.
Everyone is our group lived their meal. I ordered the spiny lobster promodoro pasta and it was disappointing. Lacked much flavor or interest. Rest of evening was great.
Great chef's menu. Service was fabulous. Disappointed that the manager approached us to leave our table right after the check was dropped. Is 1hr 45 mins too long for a 4 course dinner and wine flights?
I was very excited to finally eat here! And the food did not disappoint. The budino for dessert...I will dream about it for years! However...the service was not good. We were at the table for 15 minutes before we even got water...then it was another 30 until our cocktails arrived and our order was taken. This has been a recurring theme at Bartolotta restaurants we've been too...its unfortunate.
Not impressed. I do not think that this restaurant lived up to my expectations. Spaghetti with lobster was not to my liking. My companion's ravioli was just OK. I will not return.
Very disappointing. In our opinion, the whole Bartolotta's ship is going down fast and this was it for us. We thought we'd try their home base, started it all flagship. First time and never again. To start, the staff; boring and not one bit personal. Don't even remember either of their names. They were slow too; walked past ignoring us more than once. Not good. We had a negative experience. We dined there for a birthday. We were seated at the only table that exposed one of the diners to harsh sunlight. We has to ask to be move to a better table. We ordered the wine that was recommended, and it was terrible. While the pork chop dinner was very good, the spiny lobster with pasta was too spicy to enjoy. The waitstaff we cordial, but very slow. It will be a long time before we give this place another try.
