Place was jammed this was at 6:30 PM on a Tuesday night. More power to them. Food was good my Special Chicken was not so special, very bland. It is off our list but others will enjoy..
We have been coming to Bartolotta for years and the quality and service has been good. Here are the issues about our last visit that I would like to share. The service was good but it seems that once the wait staff realizes that I do not drink, the quality of service staff seems to change. I'm assuming the reason is the tip. Food was overpriced and mediocre at best and we were placed at a table less that a foot away from the people next to us.
I wanted to use a $20 coupon I received in the mail and also take advantage of the Tuesday night half-price bottle of wine special. I was not told by the server at the time I ordered that I couldn't use both. I ordered a $45 bottle of wine but due to some mixup I instead was served a $76 bottle of wine. When I got the bill, I experienced sticker shock. The $20 coupon was not applied and I was charged full price for the wine I didn't order. We had a holiday get together. The acoustics are terrible. We could not hear each other. We ordered the $45 ravioli each. It was one raviollii. It was not amazing and we had to go across the street to grab more food. Really disappointing.
One of the worst dining experiences. There were 7 of us celebrating a holiday get-together, and we were crammed into a table like sardines. It was obvious that the server wanted us in and out. We had to ask her twice to explain the specials before she did. When we asked for a second bottle of wine, her answer was, "Oh, that's our last bottle -- want something else." We had a very mixed outcome here. Out waitstaff (Payam and Tony) were outstanding. My wife's dinner and my mother's dinner were almost inedible. The octopus was burnt to a crisp and just tasted of burn, ruining the rest of the dish. My steak was very good. The appetizers and desserts were well done. The space was very tight and as it filled up, the noise level rose to make conversation difficult.
