The food and wine is overpriced and nothing spectacular. You'd be better off going to Maggiano's if you want pasta.
Every course was amazing. However, the service was a different story. We waited 5 minutes for a server after we say down. Then it took another 5 minutes to get wine. If contributed to be slow all dinner. They did give us 2 free desserts.
This is the 3rd Bartalotta's we tried & we're done. We're a couple, each time, your staff puts us at those small tables 6" from another customer. The last 2 visits, the restaurant was virtually empty the entire time we were there yet you seated us at those tables right on top of one other customer. I despise that type of seating & resent being immediately seated next to strangers who can hear our every word. The food was average and absolutely not worth the cost of the meal. We found the food to be average. There are a quite a few more creative kitchens in Milwaukee especially if you are going to spend $150, including tip, for a couple of salads, main courses, a carafe of wine and a desert. ordered the prix fix black truffle meniu. It was very disappointing. first time i had a bad meal at this restarauntr and it cost over 300 dollars for two. very disappointed
I felt that expensive bottles of wine were unnecessarily being pushed by the wait staff. Although the food was ok - for the money there are much better places to go.
I was very disappointed in their New Year's eve menu. Everything was just okay, but definitely not worth the exhorbitant cost. We had one drink on our bill, so the cost of alchohol was not a factor. Nothing was outstanding. The salad was so small and non-descript. The pasta was something I could have whipped up at home. The sea bass was good but not great. The dessert was basically a brownie. Overall some disappointing aspects - the food was more Italian style rather than modern authentic Italian. I had heard good things about this restaurant and maybe my expectations were too high. Nice ambiance and good service. Extensive (but expensive) wine list of Italian wines with wide range of prices.
The food was great, but the service was very slow. This was a business lunch and I gave the host my credit card in advance and asked that it not be brought to the table. At the end of the very long meal they brought me the check.
