I hadn't been here in years, and immediately felt the quaint charm of the place. The food selection was okay but quite limited (odd for an Italian restaurant). Unfortunately, the entire experience was ruined by abysmal service. There were typically 20 minutes gaps between times we would see our waiter (not sure how this happens in such a tiny place). the service was great but I was a bit disappointed with the food. We have been to the Harbor House and that meal was fantastic. I believe that I had a similar beef dinner but it wasn't nearly as good as a similar meal at HH.
Experience was reliable but wish they would change the menu; have been eating the same entrees for 8 years. Also don't like having 2 waiters, neither one seemed to really step up to the plate and take care of us.
I indicated in my Open Table reservation that it was our anniversary. Nathan, the host, greeted us pleasantly at the door and wished us a happy anniversary - good start! We showed up at 7:50 for an 8:00pm reservation. He told us there was a table ready for us but that he wanted to seat us at a better one and asked if we would mind waiting. I was disappointed with the size of the Table - with the Water , Coffee, Bread Plate, Salad; Butter, - it was difficult to navigate!
I went to ristorante Bartolotta to celebrate my fiancés 33rd birthday with my future in laws and six of our closest friends after making reservations over week out. We arrived around 8:00 for our 8:30 "reservation", as we planned to have a few drinks to celebrate. Unfortunately, a few drinks turned into three rounds! Moved to Milwaukee a year ago from Youngstown Ohio (Italian central next to New York and Chicago)and originally from Italy. Ristorante Bartolotta is by far the closest Italian food experience that I've experienced. The menu was fantastic. Didn't know what to chose.
We've been to Restorante many times but this occasion was extremely disappointing. The duck Ragu was dry; the leg of lamb was over cooked. The ravioli was good; as was the chicken. Seems the menu selection has been reduced as well. Wonder if Bartolotta group is stretched too thin across so many restaurants??
We went to Ristorante Bartolotta for their much hyped new years menu. We were sat along the wall next to a large, single pain window. The table was great but the temperature was chilling. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous with the exception of the of the end of the night when, at about 11:15, we feel we were encouraged to leave.
