I was brought in after midnight and told to strip by the nurse. Then given sheets for my bed and taken to my room. While walking down the nearly dark hallway I saw some girls sleeping in the hallway The nurse that was guiding me to my room turned on all of the lights even though there was another girl in the room sleeping and at this point, it's 3 am. I've been interviewed by two more writers this year about the horrible treatment and lack of care of people / human beings in need of real help by real professionals who can help those in need. I'm hoping these writers have struck the nerve of people operating the Shawshank of mental illness or severe depression. I'm hoping it's been reconstructed it's so called professional medical staff. When i was hospitalized here I had most of my clothes delivered to me, except that none of my clothes ever arrived to me. I was told that the clothes had been dropped off and picked up by someone who said they worked at the building. It's been over a year and i have not seen any of the clothes nor have i gotten any compensation for the money spent on the clothes. The staff was surprisingly not transphobic and the food was alright.

If you're seeking help with addiction, don't go here. I went here to detox but it is not a rehab, it's a psych hospital. The doctors pay very little attention to the patients; I was asked the same basic questions 10 times in 6 days and saw an actual therapist exactly once. The facility is more like a prison, with a staff that is not equipped to handle medical needs aside from the nurse on duty. This place has got to be the worst. No one rarely answers the phone and if they do they all seem to have a problem knowing what unit to connect you to and if by chance they finally connect you to the correct unit no one answers that phone. What I really would like to know is you give them the code they still don't know. This place needs some serious revamping. Total disgrace.

I was at Riverwoods 6 months ago. I inherited depression from my grandmother. I was not able to get over my mom passing away. I was in therapy for people with depression. Ms. Glenda was my therapist. One day I was crying talking about my mom about how much I couldn't remember. Ms. Glenda stopped me, said her mother passed away so much years ago and her life had never been the same. While the demeanor of the staff is acceptable in general, and the physical facilities seem professional, the internal communication system here is quite unacceptable. Our family member just spent 9 days here. 4 different therapists - None of which knew what the other therapists had recommended, or promised. There is no viable internal communication at this facility. This is unhealthy, especially in dealing with a patient with a desperate and urgent need.

Run and never return if I could write this place a -50 that's what it would be because this place is an absolute nightmare. They falsely make reports about your medical condition that are not true just to extend your stay and keep you there longer and whenever you voice your opinion or concerns then they reprimand you. I am being held here against my will and have been over the legal stay I am currently in a voluntary status and they still not discharging me they keep injecting me with drugs just to try to keep me here long... read more
