Run and never return if I could write this place a -50 that's what it would be because this place is an absolute nightmare. They falsely make reports about your medical condition that are not true just to extend your stay and keep you there longer and whenever you voice your opinion or concerns then they reprimand you. Do NOT go there!! I was there for mental health reasons and never once had a counseling session in the seven days they kept me. I saw the psychiatrist for 5 seconds, just long enough for him to ask if I was hearing voices or seeing things. My husband was about to call the cops because every time he called, they wouldn't put him through to me or just hung up on him. This is an absolute joke of a "behavioral health system." I am a mental health clinician myself, and had the occasion to bring a family member in for "assessment" because of a series of recent psychiatric issues and poor decisions. (Unfortunately Riverwoods is the only behavioral health facility that is a participating provider with our health insurance plan.) I only rated 1 star because it wouldn't let me rated none. This place caused me so much pain mentally and physically. The nurses couldn't handle me physically so they called a man from the other side to get me. Him and a nurse would tackle me. They put me in an empty room with a plastic mat and a small window. They locked me in there. I would just curl up and go to sleep. You will find numerous reviews of this facility online. Please pay attention to all the negative reviews they are extremely accurate. Recently had a family member there. They were supposed to do an evaluation within 48 hours. This did not happen until the 6th day as this family member was being released along with many others who they found out did not have insurance. And the best part of it was that they tried to get this family member to backdate the evaluation form and I guess other documents to show that it was done earl... read more

Riverwoods in Riverdale, GA is a place that I would NEVER recommend sending a loved one to. The patient treatment (which I've seen with my own eyes as a visitor) was terrible. They are a facility that seems to care very much about getting paid, and appears to be running all sorts of scams to keep your loved one there as long as possible to collect as much money as possible, but they do almost NOTHING to actually help your loved one get better. PLEASE do not go to this place or allow anyone you love to go. They are abusive! I suffer with migraines and herniated disks in my back, which were noted in my chart by the doctor giving me permission to stay in bed as needed. One morning, I was very sick and a TECH burst in the room and yelled at me demanding that I get out of bed. I told her I was very sick. Someone I love is being held their against their will. She isn't a danger to herself or others, just has losts of good insurance. Insurance has been instructed to not pay them. She is a victim of funneling. Her psychiatrist funneled her to the ER who funneled her to a "behavioral health center." The whole time they were transporting her they were trying to get her to agree to use her insurance, after she rescinded her HIPAA agreement. They violated it instead. My mother died in 2015 and Riverwoods has yet to acknowledge her fall at their facility or her death. Riverwoods has yet to send a copy of incident report that I requested in 2015. Iam still wondering why this facility has not been closed for being inadequate. Does not benefit is patients or patient's family.
