It’s a shame this venue only cares about money and nothing else. They denied a bride, who was diagnosed with breast cancer, her deposit back or a chance to change to next year. How horrible can you be. I’ve heard nothing but horror stories about this place.

This venue is money hungry. I would avoid at all costs. There are plenty of other venues that care about you as a bride. This venue just sees dollar signs.

So disappointed to hear about the postponement options which was given to a bride with cancer

Absolutely ridiculous that the wedding venue won’t show any compassion to that poor bride diagnosed with cancer !! very disappointed.

Business response:

Hello Nicole, cancer has directly touched the lives of many of us at Rock Island Lake Club, so we understand firsthand how challenging this time is for the couple you are referring to. There were some initial challenges with moving their wedding date due to rescheduling conflicts presented by the pandemic, but we are working with the couple to move their wedding to November 2022.

I wonder what it’s like, as a business owner, going to sleep at night knowing how horribly you’ve treated one of your brides who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. As a bride who had to postpone due to Covid (so glad I didn’t choose this place), my situation is COMPLETELY different than that of a young woman with absolutely no choice but to postpone her wedding because she’ll be recovering from chemo and surgery. Shame on this place. Give her a weekend date of her choice or give her a refund.

Business response:

Hello Dani, there was some miscommunication surrounding the rescheduling of this wedding due to challenges presented by the pandemic. However, we are working with the bride and groom to move their wedding to November 2022. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time

Wow after a year with no business and people finally starting to book again at your venue again you would think you would be more compassionate and willing to help your potential customers in need. It has recently came to everyone’s attention that you are all in it for the money not the community!! When someone has an actual medical issues you do what you can to accommodate properly. A woman with cancer deserves to be Re-accommodated or refunded! She is giving you adequate notice you have almost a year to fill that date. I c... read more

Business response:

Absolutely disgusting business practices. A bride was diagnosed with cancer and they refuse a date change unless she takes a week day. She will still be recovering from chemo & mastectomy on her original wedding date.

Business response:

Hello Lauren, there was some miscommunication surrounding the rescheduling of this wedding due to challenges presented by the pandemic. However, we are working with the bride and groom to move their wedding to November 2022. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time and we look forward to celebrating their wedding next year.

Hey Perry and Michelle, show some empathy for the bride going through chemo. Your policies are appalling. Hope all of these reviews get your attention and show you how horrible you are. Have some humanity. If you’re a bride looking to book this venue, please read all of the reviews left here recently. That is the kind of person you would be doing business with.

This place is awful. Refuses to reschedule a wedding for a woman diagnosed with cancer. An absolute disgrace. Why would you want to celebrate at a place that has no empathy.
