The two us had an enjoyable Friday lunch at Saltlik. The restaurant was busy so active and noisy. The waiter was friendly and efficient and the other staff kept water glasses full and the food arrived promptly. The calamari starter was one of the best I've had in Calgary. Instead of tiny deep fried pieces their's were large and tender. We had 2 pasta dishes which were both well prepared. An excellent choice for lunch or evening dining in the Stephen Avenue area.
If you want to get in and out within an hour, make sure you place your order right away and follow up on timings
The service was quick, friendly and professional. This was a working lunch and everyone was happy with their meals and I was happy with the price. The food, service, and ambiance was above average which is what we paid for.
The Saltlik has been a great restaurant for many years in Calgary. The service is always great, but the menu and the food need some work. I found it hard to find a good choice for lunch. Steaks are always incredible, but they just need to work on what comes with. Those stringing fries are horrible and no one at our table ate them. Maybe a couple salad options with steak and upgrade the fries:-)
Food was excellent. Noisy as very open layout. Server was great. Service overall was quick and professional. Would definitely recommend it.
We have tried 3 times to get a reservation when we have visited Calgary. We were finally successful on a Saturday night and we were not disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere and food.

The food was very good. Best burger I've had in a long time. I would like to mention that when ever I reserve a table, I notice if I show up as a couple I get a good table, not right in the thick of bar traffic and kitchen. If I show up with another female I'm given the "token" table right by the bar and server traffic area. Wait staff were amiable but at bit over solicitous at first. Wine and liquour choices were enticing and of good quality. I would definitely go back, there are more menu choices I look forward to trying.
Overall a great experience. Highly recommend it! It would be nice if it was a little quieter.
