The ambiance is good, lighting is bright, servers are great. The staff make the difference, the food is just that, Food.

We were greeted by friendly staff and taken to our table immediately. Our drink order was taken right away but we had to wait for our food order to be taken, around 15 minutes. The food was excellent as it has been the fast few times I have dined at Saltlik

My wife and I were in town and wanted to find a good steakhouse and based on reviews, we tried out the Saltlik. Our service was fantastic and food was decent. I ordered the 15oz ribeye medium rare, which came out medium to well done. I spoke up and they brought me a new steak and covered the steak on the bill! I thought this was a great way of handling the situation. Normally I would not speak up, but for $38 for a steak I felt it should be how I wanted it and they handled it superbly. Everything was delicious. From the appetizers (tamarind dry ribs & meat/cheese plate), to the French Onion Soup, to the entrees. My prime rib was so tender and beautifully cooked. I decided to pair it with the lobster mashed potatoes. Best decision ever - delicious. The rest of my party really enjoyed their entrees, too. Saltlik is a favourite with us. A wonderful steak house with a Calgary feeling. The food is more than just basic steak but never disappoints. The big plus is the great food and service with a feeling of comfort and belonging. No stuffiness or waiters that are full of themselves.

It's always good, but this particular Saturday night they didn't seem on their game for our table. Wrong appetisers delivered (Chicken Caesar instead of starter Caesar... Made for wasted food, though we were not charged), took a long time to get our order out and when it did came the steak was under done, making for a cold meal fast. Usually, water is continually served, but we had to ask for some, and it was never refilled. This was a one time event, this does not usually happen to us at Saltlik. Basic steak house menu with best quality filet mignon. Nice fully loaded baked potato but first arrived cold. Veg side dish, mostly asparagus, not fresh and tender. But steak was most enjoyable. Adequate wine list. Service pleasant and responsive. Would go again.
