My friend and I met for a business lunch. We had a lot to discuss. My friend is from Toronto and enjoyed this Calgary dining experience. The service was friendly and timely. The food was fresh and delicious and the portions a good size. I'm glad I chose this spot for our meeting. However, the noise level of the music was too high if you want to hear what your friends have to say.
We went as a group for lunch and our food didn't come for a very long time. We arrived at 11:45 and ordered quickly after getting seated, but the order didn't get put in until after we got our appis.
Our dinner took a total of two hours. Which if that's the pace a diner chooses, that's fine, however their wait times were unacceptable. For a hostess to approach our table and say a server will be right with us - 10 minutes (she took our drink order) For the server to first say Hello - additional 10 minutes (20 from being sat!) For our first drinks to come (bottle of wine) - additional 20 minutes (that's 30 from ordering!) Wow! Maybe the best steak I have ever had!
I loved the atmosphere and decor. It's very inviting, intimate and welcoming. The tables are comfortably placed from each other which allows for privacy. We split the rib-eye steak special and it was perfectly grilled and the best steak I've had anywhere. I highly recommend the apple pie as a dessert favorite. Definitely to be shared and to die for. Will recommend to my friends and I will be back! Thanks for a great dining experience.
it is a business scene. clients were impressed with service and noticeably business people throughout. steak cooked to their satisfaction. not slow but not rushed.
This isn't the best steak in downtown Calgary, but it's not the worst either. The wait staff is attentive, and generally pleasant. On this visit, my waitress was less chatty than usual. I love their molten chocolate cake. It's worth a visit for that alone.
Great attitudes everywhere and service, atmosphere was amazing. Only issue I had was for the price of a steak and seasonal vegetables it could have been way better, steak wasn't as tender as it could have been as it had a tendon in it and the veggies seemed like they had been on fire and had a strong over powering smoke taste which was a turn off.
