Our server Jill was incredible, she really saved the experience with her excellent service. The food was so disappointing. We had issues with both appetizers and our mains. Our appetizers were really badly portioned and excessive in some coleslaw garnish. My salmon was the worst, completely dry and flavourless. We go here semi- regularly because we have always had a very nice evening. But this time was much different. We made a reservation 3 days prior and then got sat in the basement at a bar table. When you want a romantic evening at a high end restaurant, sitting at a bar table isn't ideal. After being served our drinks, they tasted nothing like they had in the past and we made poorly. I came Friday and there is still not a lot of people, the server was the worst, it was snowing heavily and I was wearing my snowboots and coat and I look disheveled from the weather, I came in and told them about my reservation. The server gave me a cold stare and was VERY RUDE, they took my order and I ordered the butchers block which is sooooo salty, the caesar salad was overly acidic, i feel the chef or line cook did not even taste the dressing!! Brought wrong wine, basically sat us and then ignored us. We left after our appetizer, corked our wine and left. Disappointed. Then when we asked for bill, they didn’t ask why? Weird.

I ordered a prime sirloin that was supposed to be 7 oz, everyone commented how small it was , looked more like 3-4. It was tough with some fat and grisle. I was with some customers so did not want to create a fuss, so just chewed it down. The server kept trying to point me to the more expensive wines rather than ordering the bottle I did ($79). I ordered the steak on “special”, and it was the toughest, most over-salted steak I have ever had. Stringy and nearly impossible to cut. Side of asparagus was salted to a ridiculous level. My husband’s filet was decent and both steaks were the same price. Service was sparse, simple drinks (vodka soda and a tonic with lime) took forever to arrive. We were scoping out a good place to take visiting family...we’re going to keep looking.

The steaks and extras were really outstanding, great food. French onion soup was very tasty but not hot enough. Service left many wishes open. We agreed to swap a baked potato by corn but still were charged. At the entrance I was greeted for my 60th birthday event and offered a glass of Prosecco. Our waiter later not only refused to serve one but told me "we don't do that anymore". A pity!
