Visited Saltlik on Sunday evening with family from out of town. Party of 8. Sat us immediately then ignored us for 25 mins. Finally ordered drinks, brought 1/2 in 5 mins. then left the other 1/2 for another 15 mins (not even water). Food was ok, fire the server.
If you want a Denny’s quality 50 dollar Ribeye steak this place is for you. They have no idea of what a steakhouse really is. Waiter Service is slow and unprofessional. Bus boys don’t know what a glass of water is. Cold food. Sent back. Cold food out again. They even had the gall to tell us that we weren’t being charged for the first cold, inadequate, round of steaks. Unbelievable. Salad i ordered was a bunch of tasteless iceberg lettuce with some bacon bits and dressing on top.
This restaurant was recommended by hotel. I wanted something special as it was my husbands birthday. We were both disappointed having read some good reviews. Steaks were average and it was really expensive. We should have complained at the time but it was busy and we just wanted to leave. Didn’t help when we received our bill and hadn’t finished our wine!!
One steak was not prepared as ordered had to be sent back twice. Server explanation of different cuts for their special was incorrect said it was like a filet but it was the thinnest steak I ever saw. Very dissappointed.
I knew better than to go to Saltlik. The last time I went wasn’t great, and I hadn’t been back in years... Had I not had a gift card ($100) we wouldn’t have gone... but, since we did, it made sense to give it another chance. The food was excellent and the price although a little on the expensive side was more or less what I expected from a steakhouse. I do think more could be offered along with the main course in terms of sides beside just a baked potato. Perhaps some veggies etc. My only real complaint was the service. Over priced for a 10 ounce steak that had 3 ounces of fat....any place that charges extra for add ons doesn't work well for me.
Music was so loud, everyone had to shout to be heard at their tables. They got our side order wrong. Steaks were horribly under-cooked. Steak that was sent back was simply put back on the grill (or in the broiler) rather than replaced, so it came back over-cooked. Second round of our drinks took almost half an hour to come. Dessert, same as the second round of drinks. No compensation offered, except the $3 overcharge for the side we did not order.
