Fantastic food, just a shame that by 3.30 we were the only people there !

We liked the ambience and our "waitress" was very personable and attentive. My partner specifically asked for her steak to be "very well done", so it was disappointing that it had to be sent back, as it clearly not cooked as requested. Not an identical vibe to the USA branches - I know the Boston one pretty well, anyway - because lacking the characterful upbeat old-school waiters. The London waiters and (still unusual in S&W USA?) waitresses are just efficient and cheerful. Very close in atmosphere nonetheless however, and the decor is almost identical. We really loved our Sunday afternoon at Smith & Wollensky. We started with breakfast cocktails and opted for the two-course menu - which was a good call as I don't think we'd have had room for three! We were presented with a choice of unlimited red or white wine, and you were able to switch between the two if you wished. The food is heavenly, the staff are fantastic - this is my favourite restaurant! It's perfection!!!
We were in London for a special occasion and were over the moon when we discovered S&W had opened in London. We weren't disappointed. The staff we encountered from entering to leaving were all friendly and knowledgable. The service was fantastic without being intrusive and the food was amazing. The only negative was we ate too much and then had to sit through a show with over full stomachs. Will definitely be back.

I'm a huge fan of the NYC location, and although I know they're not really affiliated (the NYC location is separately owned), I just had to try out the London location since moving here. That said, at first I was really skeptical because of the review S&W got in the Guardian, so I ended up trying Goodman (two locations), Hawksmoor, and Cut before I went to S&W.
