The restaurant itself was lovely. A very warm welcome. The pre meal drinks were lovely as was the wine with lunch. The food was awesome- cant complain one bit. However, the service let the restaurant down. We asked for the wine to be decantered but it sat on the side with the cork in. Other parts of the service were also not up to standard. I love great steak places and the food was up there with the other greats such as Hawksmoor and Goodmans but the service was not as good.

I've been to the S&W in NYC many times, so I was looking forward to the S&W experience while in London for business. The restaurant is huge and the decor is wonderful. The staff have been well trained and are very attentive. The food was great and the portions similar to what you would find in NYC.

Excellent venue with superb service. Old world charm with a strong sense of the American Steakhouse. Well worth a visit for any occasion.

I love S and W in the USA, it is great value for what you get. The London restaurant is way too expensive, I think it was £60 - £70 for a steak and the side dishes are half the size of what the US restaurants offer. The steaks are great, just way too expensive so I think they will have to address that to be competitive on the London steak scene.

The restaurant has only been open a couple of weeks and it is tucked away a little so not full. My husband ordered the yellowfin tuna tartare and I had the smoked salmon (generous portion) which we both enjoyed. Then we both ordered the Fillet Mignon Oscar (Steak with Jumbo Lumpcrab meat, asparagus and hollandaise sauce) which was excellent. Cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyed. Too often a steak can be disappointing (best cooked at home) but not on this occasion. A portion of fries and a mountain of onion rings as si... read more

We had a birthday lunch on Sunday. The place was three-quarters empty, which didn't help the ambiance! Then again, it's only been open a few weeks. Our group of 5 had a variety of steaks and a couple of people had the roast been Sunday lunch. The quality of the meat was outstanding (comparable with the original S&W in NYC where we've also eaten). My sirloin was genuinely the best I have ever eaten. The service was attentive and friendly without being 'clingy'. The prices are very high indeed. Our bill was £317 for 5 includin... read more

Visited on the 28th June on the advice of a friend, I had no idea that this restaurant existed in London. I ordered Lamb as the Sunday Lunch and it was great, the staff were attentive and although the drinks took a while to get to us, the service was good for a soft opening. I have already recommended Smith & Wollensky to a number of friends and shall be returning tonight (30th June) to try the rest of the menu.

I had been really looking forward to this place opening and it lived up to the hype. The Porterhouse was fantastic. Loved the pea soup starter too. For dessert we opted for the Gigantic chocolate cake which is nearly finished... 3 days later! Service was attentive and I'm sure will improve after a few weeks. Considering they have just opened it's still pretty good. It was well held together by a lovely American lady who I'm sure was drafted in to do just that. She was wonderful! Overall a great experience and worth the price... read more

I would say I have no words for how good an evening I had at S&W on Saturday but then I wouldn't be writing this would I. My boyfriend took me to S&W on Saturday evening to celebrate my birthday. I love a good steak and I was very excited when the London branch opened. Not without due reason, what a fabulous dining experience. The food is outrageously good, the gorgonzola crusted fillet mignon a real highlight, as well as the sides of mac and cheese and hashbrown. A good quality bottle of prosecco very reasonably priced, won... read more
