Great room with plenty of space between table. Perfect steak and attentive service. Can't wait to go back
We have visited smith and wollensky in New York a few times. We have always loved it there and now it's in London it's just as good. If you love steak you will never eat a better one. There seafood is also amazing. Service also 5*
It is a while since I have been to a steakhouse but we got a short notice booking at Smith & Wollensky. In has a nice feel to the place with a classic West End look but a slightly American feel. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was good throughout. The portions were very large and if we go back, we will probably share a starter and dessert. Well executed steaks cooked to perfection - grass fed Mignon and specials IMHO better than the usual corn fed fare. Chips and Béarnaise much improved since Jay Rayner's visit! Service still a little haphazard but sorted itself out (three people to forget to bring water?) High price compared to similar (e.g. Hawksmoor) without sufficient justification IMHO.
Great dining experience not to be missed. Service was friendly, personal and attentive. Food was high quality the best steak I have eaten in years and the fish options were superb for my wife who is not a big red meat fan. Drinks a bit on the pricey side but that is the only down side on a wonderful dining experience well worth trying.
The Sunday Lunch was beautifully presented and considering it included unlimited wine really good value. The service is professional and still warm and friendly. The chocolate mousse is divine! The beef I had was amazing, and my partner could stop grinning over his pork and roast potatoes!
What a great find! Food amazing, service was friendly and genuine. We ordered based on our waiters recommendations and he didn't let us down. Steaks are pretty enormous so either fast for a good few hours before you go or down scale the weight of your steak! Steaks were cooked to perfection. Look forward to a return trip.
Food was phenomenal, service excellent - attentive and light hearted but very knowledgeable. Décor was good too but the restaurant was very empty (a Thursday lunchtime) - only two or three other parties - and the atmosphere was therefore rather limited. The prices are expensive, no question, £55 for their speciality ribeye (albeit delicious). All in all, a great restaurant and I imagine it would be fantastic when busier but one to justify with a special occasion.
Absolutely fantastic experience at Smith & Wollensky a very classy place but not cheap! Very extensive wine list and excellent cocktails The crab starter was the best I've had anywhere The way they dry cure the steak means you must have a sauce with it but very flavoursome Stunning surroundings and brilliant service make this a Winner
