mum has been in Somerset House since June 2026 and she loves living there, everything about the home is excellent. the staff are so kind and caring, the food is lovely and the home is so clean and comfortable. on behalf of myself and the family we feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful home for mum, I would certainly recommend Somerset House to anyone else looking for a nursing home for their loved ones.

While my wife was only in Somerset House for two weeks of respite care, her care was second to none. Mimi her friend/carer was outstanding in the care she gave to my wife, and became her friend which is not easy, as my wife has severe dementia and is not easy to care for. The food is of an extremely high standard and the staff were always willing to try something different if what was on offer didn't appeal. My 99 year old mother lives in Somerset House in York. She moved there in March 2026 from Surrey. I had looked at several care home and was very disappointed in them. It was such a relief to find Somerset House. I knew straight away I had found a caring home with friendly and professional staff. The building is kept beautifully and she has a lovely fresh bedroom with other excellent facilities. I can highly recommend.

Mum has been in Somerset House for the past 18 months. She has received the best care of a very high standard. The staff are always professional and treat everyone with dignity and compassion. The staff always go above and beyond for residents & family. Mum is very happy as are we.

I think the home is doing a good job for the residents. Most residents seem happy and the staff are doing an excellent job. From what I have seen it seems like a very nice home to be in.

I highly recommend Somerset House in Wheldrake. I am particularly impressed with the nursing care and support of my mam. Anytime my mam has had any medical issues, the home is right on it and always calls me to let me know what is going on. The home has been recently refurbished. The rooms are beautiful, as is the common areas. It has made a big difference to mams quality of life and gives me peace of mind. The staff are all wonderful and mam, and I are very grateful for all the love and support.

Always a good experience at Somerset we visit a lot and always excellent. Staff and facilities are very very good. All friendly and very caring towards us and to mum. We were very happy when mum's assessment finished and mum was able to stay. Thank all.

The Care and Nursing Home is absolutely beautiful- like walking into a 5 star hotel. Every single member of staff is so pleasant, friendly and kind. My father is bed bound so interacting with dedicated and kind staff is so important. Can't speak highly enough of the service provided to the residents and their families. I am informed of what's happening and involved in decision making.
