Terrible service. I DO NOT recommend this auto shop. I'm not sure if Ali is the owner, but they are NOT HONEST at all. I initially took my car there because the engine light is on, first of all, my car is fairly new and has less than 15,000 milages. If they are honest, he could just tell me to take my car to the dealership because my car is still under warranty. They kept my car for 3 days and ended up with charged me $850 for diagnosis and "calibration" without giving an estimate before they do the work. After less than... read more

Business response:

Wendy,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback on your experience with us though it was only worth 1 star. We have no way of knowing if your car is still under warranty as that information is not readily available to us and as the vehicle owner your vehicle’s warranty would be your responsibility to keep in mind. All vehicles that come in to our shop are given an estimate that is signed off by our customers before we start any work at all. We do not do any repairs without first having the approval of the own... read more

This shop SCAMS people out of money. Do NOT leave your car with them. Once they had my car and gave me the estimate, the price to the fix kept changing and they kept calling me to push me to do a super expensive fix. They were extremely unprofessional and lied about what they told to fix. They fixed a bunch of things that I never asked for and the they actually never fixed the main problem my car had, one day after getting home the engine and hev light turned on again and now they were telling me I needed to replace my hybri... read more

Business response:

Freddy, We ran diagnostics on your car and we found that the water temperature sensor and thermostat had to be replaced because the lower radiator hose wasn’t getting hot. We let you know that once we repaired this issue it would clear that code and we would run diagnostics again to see if there were any additional issues due to damage that the first issue caused. When we ran diagnostics a second time, we found that your hybrid battery was not good either. None of these repairs were forced on you at all. After we ran diagnos... read more

Don't go here. Took a car in for a brake change and after charging me an exorbitant fee for new brakes and rotors ($1,000), the brakes squealed within a couple of days. Took it back and they said there was no warranty on their work. They said they would redo the work, but wanted another $400 for new parts. Finally I insisted on just replacing the front pads, that I knew were the sourse of the noise, but they made me provide the pads before they would change them. Unethical shop that seems out to cheat every dollar they... read more

Business response:

Gary, You were not a customer of ours, yet you have decided to take it upon yourself to leave us a 1-star review anyway and are providing false information on top of that. We do in fact provide a warranty on our work, and if there is a mistake on our end we are sure to take care of it. Misrepresentation is unethical, but we do appreciate your effort. Regards, Management

This shop SCAMS people out of money. Do NOT leave your car with them. Once they had my car and gave me the estimate, the price to the fix kept changing and they kept calling me to push me to do a super expensive fix. They were extremely unprofessional and lied about what they told me just a few hours ago. I had to pay to get my car back with no work being done at all. To make matter worse the quotes they provided me were double of the other mechanics I called. stay away from this place. Now I'm out of money and still need ... read more

Business response:

Jackie/Lana, You have left us reviews on both Google & Yelp using 2 different names so we wanted to make sure we address the right person. It is unfortunate that you feel as though we scammed you, that is not how we mean to come across as our business is quite transparent in our practices. Our costs are posted around our shop and also explained to our customers. We do charge for diagnostics, but that is something that we let all of our customers know and the charge for this service is clearly visible in our office. When runn... read more

My experience was really bad. With long waiting. I dropped my car around 12.30pm and back to get my car 3 pm. The car wasn't ready which the guy at the front desk told me it will take 1-1.30 hours but I understand if they need little bit more time to fix it. So I was waiting with no response for almost 2 hours I got my car back at 5.13 pm with all the list that I have to repair it. So I paid for $180 for just checking on my car and waiting for 4 hours. I was trust on 4.5 stars on Yelp.

Business response:

Artittaya, When you brought your vehicle in, the service requested was for a complete diagnostic to see what the issues with the vehicle were. Depending on the number of vehicles we have at a time, the diagnostics completion varies and you just happened to catch us on a busy day. We do apologize for the long wait, but we wanted to make sure we gave you a complete inspection so we can provide you with a list of repairs that can be done for your vehicle. This way, we can tell you what is absolutely necessary and what can wait.... read more

This shop is highly unprofessional had an appointment and told me 4 hours to do 15 minute job

Business response:

Samuel, Installing an Intoxalock Ignition Interlock for your VW is definitely more than a 15 minute job. I am not sure how you came up with that time estimate since only specific contracted vendors are the only ones allowed to touch and install the device by law. The 4 hours we quoted you was an approximation, and if it gets done sooner we would let you know and for this job it is a flat rate of $265 (there is no hourly charge for labor to install the device). It is unfortunate that you felt our service deserved a 1-star rev... read more

Never Again!!! Negative stars!!! Find another mechanic!!! I'm not from the area, so I just needed to pick a close shop. There are mechanics around that charge far less than $165 for labor. $2,033.86 later and I didn't even make it home after the work was done and was charged another $190.24 for a new belt and labor which they should have replaced when doing the work. They took off the belt and put it back on to do the original work. His response was that it was old and unraveled on its own. The $180 diagnostic wasn't e... read more

Business response:

Ryan, We appreciate you choosing Ray’s Auto Repair & Tires, though it was just because we were in the vicinity. We apologize for your experience not being a positive one. We spent about 2-3 hours running diagnostics on your vehicle and found the issue you were having, which was as you mentioned, the power steering pump. Once we told you about the issue, you approved us for the work and we did include a discount since you did the diagnostics and repairs here. On your repairs, we had to remove the belt to get the job done. Aft... read more

I think the service here is drastically declining. I had come once after new ownership and that was a great experience. I went back in for oil change/inspection recently and was overcharged. I don't know much about cars so I ok'd the charges. My bad. But I did call other car shops out of curiosity and they quoted me much lower. After I got my car back, I started hearing creaking sounds coming from under the car/tire area I had never heard before. I went back in to have them look at it, which they did. It was a loose screw wh... read more

There were serious communication issues leading to overall dissatisfaction, but I appreciate they took the negative feedback to heart and finally tried to make it good. Car needed planned maintenance (oil and filters change, inspection), asked for a quote by email but for 2 weeks didn't get a reply so I called them, described the car and scheduled an appointment for 2 days laters. When I arrived on the scheduled date they told me they didn't have all the parts, I told them I'll bring then the car in another day, they said to... read more

Walter, we take feedback like yours very seriously. Customer service is extremely important to us and we pride ourselves on being honest and trustworthy. We hope you will reconsider and visit us again in the future.
