Food is overall good but overpriced. I was there 3 times with different groups. Our first server was too much and pushy on the food he wanted us to eat. On the third visit the lamb I ordered was just plain raw. The Vleis Pastei and the Ostrich Filet were really good. The Karoo Lamb Porter was raw (its supposed to be grilled to medium rare) so i had to ask for them to cook it some more and the Chicken Pendurada was kinda pretentious and just OK. If this used to be Peli Peli, i've been here before (over a decade ago) but I barely remember the food. Overall, the food was pretty good! The customer service was great. Carrot ginger soup - 5/5 It was served very warm and not on it's way to cold. The flavor was great! Beef skewers - 2.5/5 Prepared medium. Cooked just right but it needed more flavor and/or salt. Kingklip - 5/5 This isn't served with a side of carbs. Regardless the white fish was perfectly cooked and the sauce was flavorful. Lobster mac and cheese - 5/5 Very... read more

My wife and I went to The Chef’s Table for a special occasion and it was fantastic! The wait staff were super attentive and professional, and the atmosphere was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night, perfect for actually being able to talk. The menu really stood out. I didn’t realize it was going to be a mix between a steakhouse and international cuisine, but it worked perfectly.
