Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced for the quality. Service was great as well. Limited parking for guests though, plenty for club members.
Loved it in every way, except there was a wedding dance in the banquet center right next door. The music was very loud and not at all appropriate for the dining experience. It was a problem, but nothing much could be done about it. Otherwise it was fantastic.
My wife and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at The Commodore. We grew up in St. Paul and the last time we were there was 1964 for her OLP senior class dance. The menu seemed limited but everything looked good. I would hope that it expands to include more than one steak selection. Our dinners were delicious and presented well. The wait staff is smooth, friendly, quick, observant and friendly.
We liked it enough to consider booking the room for a retirement dinner in the future.
Quaint, elegant, back to the 20's decor with great food and unique drinks. Service was superb too! My wife and parents enjoyed our evening at The Commodore Bar and Restaurant and will be back in the near future. My wife and I especially talked about coming back for early evening appetizers and drinks anytime, not just special occasions.
This was our first visit and we we very impressed with the ambiance and service. Our food was delicious and a good value. The speciality drinks (we enjoyed the Zelda and Fitzgerald) actually were really special. We will be back.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, which was a big part of our enjoyment. The food, while good, was not spectacular. I had the Pork Schnitzel, which was too salty for my taste, but otherwise adequate. My husband had the salmon, which he also thought was too salty. We had the lobster deviled eggs as an hors d'oeuvres, which were good but again, not spectacular. All that considered, we enjoyed our evening very much and would go again to try other food choices.
Attention to detail is definitely on the mind of all staff. Warm, friendly but not wanted to be a best friend. The wait staff allow for a relaxing social and meal time. Plan to make this a regular on our calendar.
We were thrilled with our evening. We were greeted cordially and promptly and taken immediately to our reserved table. We had ample time to study the menu over wine before our server explained the menu and specials. Every course was delicious and presented well. The surroundings and the service made us feel really special.
