My mother used to go to The Commodore in the 1930's and talked about it a lot. Funny I had never been there. Later dinner on a Saturday was perfect. We were seated in the packed dining room promptly at our reservation time. Something rare for a Saturday night in a busy place. The service was prompt attentive and knowledgeable without being cloying. Our server was Anthony and had an excellent knowledge of wine. The food was excellent and the prices harkened back to an older time. This place does not break the bank. Highly rec... read more

Took my mother here for a post-Mother's Day celebration. It is the perfect unique experience ... especially for those that understand or appreciate a great throwback vibe. If not, it's a great opportunity to experience it.

After reading "The Great Gatsby", our book club decided to come to the beautifully restored Commodore to "drink in" the ambiance that F. Scott Fitzgerald enjoyed when he frequented this place. We were not disappointed! The food, service and surroundings were all excellent. We will return!

Nostalgic Potato-leek soup & chocolate soufflé topped delicious Mahi-Mahi &'Cauliflower gratin. Dining room noisy. Excellent service. Not rushed. Will try bar lounge nect time.

All five of us ordered different appetizers and entrees. All were excellent as well as the special cocktails. Portion sizes were perfect. Our waitress was very attentive, professional, explanatory and pleasant. We each ordered a variety of desserts which were delightful, tasty and just the right proportion. We look forward to returning soon.

I have eaten at the Commodore three times now that it has reopened. It is visually stunning in every aspect of the word. Art Deco and reminder of when F. Scott Fitzgerald hung out there. The food is great and the bar is gorgeous. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves the past especially the twenties era as I do.

The dining room is always booked, but we were very happy in the lounge. You should tell people that the lounge is big and nice looking. Food was good, especially the fries which we all thought were the best ever. We will be back.
