These reviews are harsh! I love The Edge, I've been a member for over a year and have been very happy. It's possible to sign up with out the startup fees if you keep your eyes open for a deal. After a year your contract switches to month to month and you can then cancel at any time. It's $25 a month which includes great exercise classes that keep work outs fun and interesting. I used to be a member several years ago and frequented both the Riverside and Norwalk location. Membership was pricey at the time ($64 per month) and that was with my corporate discount. The male staff was always professional and courteous, unfortunately, I could not say the same for the majority of the female staff. Management here is truly inept. This used to be a solid gym but it has been steadily going downhill for the past three of four years. As many others have noted, they allow people to sit on machines and use their cell phones for as long as they want. The staff doesn't care. But in the locker room, they have a sign saying "No Cell Phones Allowed." Incredibly stupid. Usually crowded with kids who don't know etiquette, and it's not a large space. It use to be a great gym but now since LA fitness closed, they're all coming here and it's always extremely busy doesn't matter what time a day either could be 5 o'clock in the morning could be 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Doesn't matter. Very difficult to get on machines, especially the younger crowd!! They come in packs slamming weights ,and very disrespectful and They play on their cell phones and stay on the machines for a long period of time !! They will not put a cap on the membership. !! be aware. they are thieves. make it impossible to cancel. and charge monthly even after you cancel your membership. 2 hours on the phone and was told my account was closed and I would no longer be charged. guess who charged my account another $ 37.21 this month. I'm now on the hold again with abcfitness (their company) for 45mins currently trying to cancel.

Terrible customer service. Most people who work at the gym are either watching their phones or chatting with other employees or friends. The locker room is always a mess, the floors are wet from people stepping into the sauna fully dressed and coming out dripping sweat. Young guys always taking photos in the locker room no matter how many times you bring it up with the management. Probably the worst club in a franchise of terrible fitness clubs. Overcrowded (typically with high school children), water filters for bottle dispensers need changing (gross) and no functioning wifi (which I suspect is purposeful so people won't leave scathing reviews while at the gym or to prevent people from googling "fitness clubs near Norwalk"). The worst edge between here and Shelton -- small no weights -- walk in a treadmill and it stops working or a step mill and your hitting your head on the ceiling -- what a joke of a place

Extremely disappointed with this establishment, its membership services staff, and the company as a Corporate entity. When we signed up for this gym, I was very specific and adamant about making sure we could cancel at any time. We were assured that we were not locked into any kind of time commitment, and could cancel whenever we would like.
