Probably the worst club in a franchise of terrible fitness clubs. Overcrowded (typically with high school children), water filters for bottle dispensers need changing (gross) and no functioning wifi (which I suspect is purposeful so people won't leave scathing reviews while at the gym or to prevent people from googling "fitness clubs near Norwalk"). Bad place. Too bad there isn't anywhere else to go since Edge Fitness Clubs undercut their competitors ten years ago, driving them out of business. Now that they know competition... read more

The worst edge between here and Shelton -- small no weights -- walk in a treadmill and it stops working or a step mill and your hitting your head on the ceiling -- what a joke of a place

Extremely disappointed with this establishment, its membership services staff, and the company as a Corporate entity. When we signed up for this gym, I was very specific and adamant about making sure we could cancel at any time. We were assured that we were not locked into any kind of time commitment, and could cancel whenever we would like. Not only is that not true, but we are locked into a 2+ year contract that we cannot get out of and you can't even speak to anyone on site about your membership once you've signed up for ... read more

Business response:

Hello Quinn, we are sorry to hear your frustration. Although we cannot change our cancel policies, we do try to make it clear by detailing out all terms in your membership agreement, so that it will not come as a surprise to our members, as well as detailing it on our website FAQs. We also offer a cancel window upon signing the agreement, if the terms are not a good fit for you. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at edgecares@theedgefitnessclubs.com if you wish for us to look into your account and address any quest... read more

The gym is always very crowded, so it can be difficult to get in a full workout. Equipment is all over the place. The music is very loud, and it's the same playlists over and over again. It makes no sense in today's world where everyone wants to listen to their own music. I have asked for the music to be at a lower volume, but nothing was done. Two stars for cost of membership. It might be time to review music guidelines.

Business response:

Hi Maggy we are sorry to hear that you have not found our club to be the best fit for you. We do offer several different membership packages to choose from. We do have volume guidelines in place for all club, although sometimes a station may come in louder than another. Members are always welcome to ask a manager to adjust.

They've turned into a commercial Plant Fitness catering to Teens that happens to allow deadlifts. I have been a member of the edge for 14 years and I'm done. I joined when I was 20. I have worked with trainers here and been a loyal customer. when my contract ends, I'm done. It's a pity. They've sold out to teenagers and these kids have 0 respect. I do not mind teens in the gym, if they're respectful and use gym equipment appropriately and timely. They come in packs and spend more time socializing at the machines, cabl... read more

I signed up for this gym right before I knew I would be asked to take a full-time Nanny Job in Wilton. WIth my schedule and the distance it was nearly impossible to get to the gym. So I decided to cancel my membership and found out that it's also nearly impossible to cancel your membership and they will not waive your fees and will continue to take money out of your account even though you communicate that your not able to use the gym. The company should be sued. None of this information was explained at the moment of subscr... read more

Once was a great gym but they sold out to high school and middle school kids. 14 year olds flexing and walking around without shoes. What a shame. Worst part is I need to wait a month before my membership officially cancels . What a scam .

Be careful when you sign up because they will make it very hard for you to cancel your membership. They will have you jump through hoops to prove you have moved (or your kid has gone off to college) in order to continue to charge your credit card to bank account. Very shady business practices.

Impossible to cancel their recurring billing. Read the reviews - It's amazing to me how much bad feedback these folks are willing to take from their customers just in order to scam out a few months of additional billing by a) giving vague cancellation instructions when you call them b) making you jump through hoops to actually cancel the billing c) point to fine print if you missed a step.
