In 2017, I went to my first retreat at the expanding light center.. It was my a Meditation group, and I was so impressed by the energy of the place, the loving nature of the people, and the delicious food, that I’ve gone back about five or six times to attend the Ananda sponsored events at expanding light. Oh Ananda, I drove away in such a state of calm. A peace which stayed with me for two solid days of driving-and in Memorial Day traffic. The land is, of course, spectacular. Well cared for and designed, it offers so many trails to walk, temples in which to meditate or pray, hidden benches and alcoves to just be at One. The people I met were to a person kind. Helpful. Beautiful facility, we were welcomed, food was very healthy & delicious! We had some excellent meditations and especially enjoyed the Lahiri Mahasaya mandir- and the foundation retreat several miles away.
Every experience I've had at the Expanding Light Retreat has been inspiring and uplifting, from the food, the classes, the teachers and staff. The grounds are well kept and has a feeling of sacredness.
Despite challenging weather and power outages I was warm and cozy all weekend. Very nice.
