The flamingo My experience with my apartment has been pretty nice. The apartment company is very accommodating. The apartment itself is very small and the parking is very difficult at times. Overall I like the area but bar louie customers can sometime be disruptive in summer, the apartment company needs to keep a doorman, which they have occasionally.
Don't let the reviews scare you away! I was hesitant to schedule a visit to see Flamingo Apartments after reading the reviews on this site. However, I had to see for myself. I scheduled a visit with the assistant property manager, Kai and exactly 3 months later I was scheduled to move in. Great Apartment, Great Neighborhood & Right On Lake! I have lived here for going on over a year and find it to be a great apartment. The building has character; it is well maintained and kept very nice. The one thing I really like as compared to other apartments is that you never, ever hear your neighbors -- the walls/floors/ceiling is very sound proof, plus the people that live in the building are very respectful and pleasant people. Love this place! this place is great, you should check it out and enjoy the happy life!
The location is great in summer! I found the apartment (studio) too small compared to others I had seen in the neighborhood. The apartment is very nice and the building looks superb. Having grown up in Hyde Park, living that close to the lake in winter can be brutal especially with the wind. The location is perfect for public transit and grocery shopping and schools are nearby.
