Don't bother, there are many nice, new loft buildings in the historic core. No parking, option is $200 a month in garage behind building, forcing residents to walk past homeless people going to the bathroom in the alley. Building was renovated 6 years ago and is quite crappy now, floors are dirty, kitchen and bathroom cabinets are old and peeling. This is not a luxury building, kitchens and bathrooms have cheap fixtures, all very poor quality. Management is inept, building is dirty and noisy. Ownership is out of state and... read more

First off the building is infested with bedbugs, ask around. Its not being handled properly and obviously not included with the info given during your 'new client tour'. they are being passed from apartment to apartment and to new tenants. gross. Nextly, if you are still considering living here at all after that, you should know that the building has MAJOR plumbing problems. The water is shutoff for "repairs" at least twice every month. I don't live here. I just went during a day of apartment hunting in DTLA. I must say that this place gave me the creeps. It didn't seem as if anyone lived there, or I should say, should live there. It seemed like a cheap office building. The amenities seem great, but they are made for middle-age men. They are dark and made me feel gross. Parking - okay. I lived here for one year, and I couldn't wait for my lease to come to an end. I was disgusted to realize that the manager (Jeff) had rented me a former bathroom that had been converted to residential. You could see the outline of the removed toilets where cement was later poured. Most days I could just laugh it off, but what bugged me was Jeff claimed to be unaware that I lived in a room previously used for mass defecation. "It's an old building. Who knows?" I do not recommend the Security Lofts. While there are minor perks, the cons far outweigh the benefits. The leasing tour puts on a good show, but once you sign the lease, watch out! The manager and leasing agents are unprofessional, untrained,and incompetent. Agent did poor job of explaining leasing terms and did not know how to do a walk-through. Staff acted passive-aggressively when we gave them a poor evaluation. We've had leaks in our loft 4 times in the past 9 months. Our neighbors have had similar leaks. Maintenance is... read more
