Please note this review is regarding overnight boarding only. I boarded my dogs at The Pet Ranch for five nights. The price is reasonable and I did like that I could have my dogs sleep together. I also appreciate that they allow you to bring items for your pets like blankets and toys. I requested updates on my dogs during their stay. Really wanted to take our dog there...couple things to note. System was down and didn't call until day 3. All they had was bigger rooms at $60 a night and would not honor a smaller room rate when who knows if they actually had something but system was down?? Person seemed rude and not customer service oriented so I'm glad this shined through...who knows how they would have treated our dog.

The reason why I give this place a one is due to their business practice integrity. I got a quote to get my dog bathed for $40 due to his breed and hair. When I dropped him off for his appointment, they told me when I could pick him up and confirmed the $40 price quote. When I came to pick him up at the time they told me, they said they weren't done and told me to comeback in an hour. these people are all about money. when I could never get my dog in on short notice, they enticed me to pay $500 with the idea I would get preferential booking and top of waiting list plus discounts on boarding. like a fool I paid and nothing changed; no better with booking and no discounts. They were not nice on the phone when I called the other day. We've used Pet Ranch twice now since we've moved back to the Kansas City area. The grooming services are great and our fur kids seem to enjoy being able to play as much as they do, but both times our younger dog has come home with kennel cough. Both dogs are vaccinated for everything but it's not 100% protection. This time it's much worse than last. We'll probably go elsewhere next time. It's not worth having a miserably sick dog and a vet bill each time we pick them up.

We're the pet parents to 3 English Bulldogs. We don't leave town very often partly because I dread leaving my 3 "fur babies" and I'm the type who calls in to check on them when I am gone. We have used The Pet Ranch on 4-5 occasions. 3 of these were several years ago and my dogs got kennel cough so I didn't go back. (Side note: dogs can get kennel cough even if they are vaxed). The Pet Ranch came recommended by my vet. I have been very happy with the boarding facilities at Pet Smart and have used them for the past six years. But I went with my vets' advice since he services The Pet Ranch and my dog has had an on-going issue with his tail. I have no problem with the facility. My issue is with the way I was treated by the staff and the vet. I had grabbed a set of credit card checks to pay my bills as I was leaving the house. We have used Pet Ranch several times for our weeklong vacation each year. We were happy with the employees and the facilities. Our dog seemed to like the place very much. Last year we encountered some confusion over vaccinations and a charge on our bill. Both questions were answered to our satisfaction. We just called to try to utilize the business again and were told they would not service us. they said the reason is that we were not happy with their service. We took our dog there when we went on vacation. I had read all of the other reviews and decided to take him to the Pet Ranch.. When we picked our dog up after our trip they told us he had been coughing while on the leash for a couple of days, I just thought he was pulling and choking himself. Later that night he was hacking, I had to take him to the after hours vet, he had kennel cough.
