The new location on Shepherd Dr near Fairview in Houston has the WORST VETERINARIAN EVER! Do your baby a favor & avoid the vet clinic chains of negligent 'care'! Also, they're not "low cost" in comparison to other places. Their horrible service almost killed our baby! The area is very clean and did smell very nice with the humidifier, but the experience left a very bad taste. I have a new kitten that was a stray so we went in to give him his first set of shots and also brought my dog that is almost 6 years old. We had recently taken him off the insurance plan from Banfield since he does have little to non health issues. Please be aware that you will need previous FIV test results in hand before your cat can get the vaccine. If you do not have it, then your cat cannot get the FIV vaccine unless you agree to pay $42.00 for the test. I did not see anything on Thrive's website that states this. It wasn't until after I was put into a room with my cat that I was told about this requirement. I chose not to continue with the appointment and left.

I hate to do this, but I had an experience that is different than the reviews written here. I'm not sure if these reviews are fake, or if I was just the exception, but here's what happened: I called in on the same day, a gentleman answered and they were able to see me within less than an hour, great! So I show up 10 mins early so I can have time to fill our paperwork. There is this young girl at the front desk who informs me that I am early and they are currently on lunch break. I would definitely not recommend this clinic at all. I followed staff member into a room and she ask me if I have specific concerns about my dog before Doctor's exam.... They took my puppy to the back, Doctor did exam, vaccinated him ....without my presence. He never show up in the room ( I never saw his face, he did not even bother to introduce himself). Same staff member gave me post op instructions but there was not feedback about exam.
