Picked this spot for business dinner based on all the good reviews. It was definitely 5 star dining in in the tradition of the old Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago, although with a modern vibe. They offered 2 price fixe options, $85 for 6 courses with optional wine pairings for the whole table, or 4 courses for $65, which allows individual choices, or complete a la carte. VIda is pretty much as good as it gets in Indy, and that's pretty good. Quality ingredients; thoughtful preparations; solid, consistent execution. Never had a problem with service. The wine list is also solid for Indiana. Not any aged wines, but who really has those any more? I consider it my duty to buy a bottle of Pierre Peters Champagne when we visit because it's the type of wine that shows some effort to offer high quality and good value. In for Devour Downtown--tried the Chef's tasting menu. Everything I had was excellent. Don't expect large portions here; expect expertly executed small dishes. Least favorite part of the tasting menu was the dessert--olive oil cake. Our server lacked any personality whatsoever this time around, but service was prompt. I love this place for a special occasion!
Upper room was wonderful at first. Large party was sat next to us the second half of the meal. Once they arrived the enclosed room echoed everything and it became very noisy. Would suggest only small party tables up there or one large party table since the space is small.
We had a wonderful experience at Vida.
