Took my mother out of this facility without their approval. Went immediately to the ER at Alvarado Hospital. She was admitted and diagnosed with pneumonia. She was discharged three weeks later and returned home. This was a horrible experience.

Believe the bad reviews. This place got raves from friends and family, but when I brought a family member here they were unwelcoming, unprepared, and almost negligent. They did not have the pain medication available, did not review the chart, and confused a broken leg with a broken hip. The rooms were dirty and dilapidated. The bed alarms to keep a patient from falling out of bed did not function. The director refused to put bed rails up, and the staff, when asked, said "People fall. I Wish there were negative star ratings!!!!! I'd like to know what the connection is with Kaiser??? Like I saw in another review, Kaiser gave a list of options for care facilities and when one was selected they said it could not provide the proper care and our dad would need to go to Villa las Palm-Ass! The care/neglect brings me to tears as I write this review. IF you value your life or your loved one's life. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. This is a disgusting, revolting, nasty, unhygienic, overcrowded, smelly, unqualified, place where any human beings should not be receiving any kind of care here. Unfortunately, I was sent here directly from Kaiser.I was told that this was the "only" bed in all of San Diego county, that was available. My experiences there were very sad and depressing. I was in villa las palmas for 5 months and I left only to be taken back to the hospital repeatedly for infections and scabies due to a lack of care and cleanliness. I was given no therapy there after becoming a quadriplegic despite having both medi-cal and private insurance. They would not even put my braces on hands so they became contracted. If I could give a zero or less I would. My father was in the ICU for two weeks prior to coming here. He was sent here and NO ONE acknowledged us for hours, a rep from an outside equipment facility showed us how to use his respiratory machine. The next day I visited my father and thought he was sleeping. I called several times and they told me he was alert even when I was there (lies).
