I had a biopsy yesterday at the Chevy Chase location. Although the radiologist and her technician were professional under the circumstances I found the front desk and others to not be available in a timely fashion. After the biopsies the radiologist wanted mammograms of course. Why didn't they think about securing the order from the surgeon days ago. I sat in a little cubicle very upset and emotional about the outcome of the biopsy and no one seemed to care. I never can get a "live" person to speak with. I called twice ... read more

I had an extremely unprofessional experience with Washington Radiology's Bethesda location and felt other patients should be aware. I returned a call this morning at 10:09 AM after being told my insurance had denied my claim. When I spoke with the front desk staff, she insisted--incorrectly--that my primary insurance (NALC) was not approved, even though NALC is simply the group name for federal employees and the insurance is administered through Cigna. I had my mammogram 4 weeks ago and still no results. I called today and was told it has not been read yet. That is totally unacceptable. I will not use Washington Radiology in the future. Marge G

My most recent mammogram will be my last one here. - 12 days to get results. Twelve. Days. In The Year of Our Lord 2025. And then, they came in a super-clinical letter written by a brick with a medical degree. As caring and warm as being naked in a blizzard. That's the biggest reason I'm out. Family history of breast cancer, cell phone in my pocket that takes both calls and texts (I checked), 12 days is beyond any scope of reasonable. - Outside the dressing rooms is the laundry area. I'm glad I'm not alone in my assessment of the poor service provided by Washington Radiology (Bethesda location). I thought I might be overreacting--based on comments, I guess not. I went in for a sonogram. The front desk and technician that performed the scan were pleasant. After the scan, I was instructed to wait for doctor for explanation. The doctor entered, turned off the monitor displaying my sonogram, then said to me everything was fine and then left the exam room. No introductions, no explanation of the scan. That wa... read more

My wife had an MRI at the Bethesda office of Washington Radiology (10215 Ferwood Rd) and it took 6 days before the images were read by a radiologist and a report was written. Then it took an additional 3 days for the resulting report to arrive by snail mail to us and to our doctor. This is unacceptable...

Update: After repeated interactions with the billing office they finally submitted my three claims to Medicare. One made it in just under the 12 month deadline, and the two others were a few weeks short of that. Is it possible that Washington Radiology staff are that completely incompetent or is this a systematic attempt at Medicare Fraud (i.e., they don't have to take the discounted Medicare amount if they run out the clock and force the patient to pay the full amount).
