I got the watch back in the same state as when I left it. You said it was because the watch was an 'obscure' make (Sector) and the parts were obsolete. So I paid £25 just to be told that. You should have a list of such watches that stop someone paying good money for the (apparently) impossible. I believe the watch just needed a clean as it works but loses about 20mins per day - so not sure it needed parts. When my wife picked up the watch the guy didn't know what parts it needed. After you advising it would cost £67 to replace the glass and waiting 4 weeks to find out that you can only replace the glass with a new casement at a cost of £300 which is more than the original cost of the watch. So a pointless exercise!
I hoped to get my Grandfather's pocket watch repaired to pass on to my son. I received an estimate for repair from Watch lab of £495 which I decided to accept in November 2025. I chased progress several times and was given various excuses for the delay. I collected the watch in July 2026 and was extremely disappointed to find that the outer metal case was missing and the watch was slow and eventually stopped all together after six hours.. I await to hear how Watch Lab will resolve this mess.
I wanted to repair my pendant (just put the ring on). First time we discussed one price, then callback and the price became almost 2.5 times higher. Unbelievable price for the small pendant ring. Can’t recommend as jewelry service.
Unacceptable experience at The Watch Lab (Colchester) – Genuine parts swapped! I am deeply shocked and disappointed by the service at the Colchester branch. I entrusted my £750 watch to them for a full service, paid £235 upfront, and received a completely compromised watch.
