Good product but we will see how it holds up Great for catching 90 percent of debris before it gets to the pump. Thanks to this, I hardly ever have to empty the pump strainer which required repriming the pump. If you are careful, you can empty this while the pump is running, just connect the two hoses that go to this and keep everything under water. A tornado of leaves We have always had a leaf catcher on our Kreepy Krawley. The one we used, had a fine mesh bag that would catch everything, including dog hair. At first that was nice, because it kept the pool filter cleaner longer. So I know it is a little bit early to write a review but I think I will not be disappointed down the line with this product. Great for summer but not so much for Fall For me, this is a difficult product to rate on its own becuase its operation depends heavily on the pool cleaner, the hose, the pump and the type and amount of leaves that fall into the pool. I purchased a barracuda G3 pool cleaner and decided to also get the CLC500 to pick up oak leaves and pine needles. Better than the standard leaf catcher but not without issues The cyclonic action seems to keep a lot more material out of my pool filter than the standard Hayward leaf catcher basket I've used for years. Just a few gripes about the setup. The adapters work OK but tend to come loose when you're trying to connect/disconnect the regular pool vac hose (non locking type).Rather than disconnect the hoses and remove the whole thing from the pool I've tried just lifting it out of the water and removing the "pitcher" part. Very good quality leaf separator Very good quality leaf separator. It is built solid and holds a ton of debris but you do have to take it apart properly to keep captured debris from falling back to the pool.I disconnect my filter side connection, stick it to the wall (dedicated cleaner port; I wouldn't do this with a skimmer and bottom drain only, but that is just my opinion), lift it until it starts to drain, then disconnect, and carefully detach the inner screen as it often sticks to the inner housing. Decent product, arrived on time and in good condition Works well and surprisingly easy to rinse the debris out (after you've removed the canister), despite the intricate shape of the basket. Leaves/stems/twigs don't seem to clog up inside the holes of the basket, as much as they do in most pool baskets, presumably due to the cyclonic action that keeps debris (and the basket itself) spinning around during operation. My honest opinion I use conventional pool vacuum hoses for underground pools and they're larger than the average ones , had to use both adapter that came with , trust me you'll need some serious force to plug it in , I put so much force that the hose plastic started ripping at edge, had to use a car key to push it further in because it got stuck halfway in.
