Much easier to open than the Hayward filter I’m very pleased with this in line vacuum hose filter. The Hayward filter I had was a nightmare to open and clean out. I’d like this design much better. As you could see from the pictures, the hose would get looped around the filter, so I bought a small length of hose Just to add some flexibility when mounting it through the poolside suction port. Overall, very happy.
Great for pool without a screen I previously was using one of these from a different company that was really hard to open so I never emptied it. I ordered this brand and absolutely love it! It catches the leaves in the pool before they go into the main filter. it was very easy to install and it opens very easy to empty. I highly recommend this especially if you don't have screen enclosure.
Zero Issues I had my pool filter explode, not sure if someone got sucked up into or what happened. So I wanted to get this to help stop anything large making it through the pool system. I'm using hose section from the intake then have the Zodiac plugged in, then rest of the pool hose going down to the floor vacuum.Works amazingly well, I've not had any issues with it flipping its self upside down and pulling in air like others have mentioned. Holds way more than the pump's strainer basket Bought this because in the fall when our neighbors trees would lose their leaves our pump strainer basket would get clogged with leaves multiple times per day to the point where the pump would start sucking air and shut itself off. Restarting the pump when it did this was a real PITA as well because the whole system was filled with air and it took forever to prime.I'd say this holds at least 5x as much debris as the pump strainer basket does and since we installed this we basica... read more
Needed this real bad. Learned when you use this device, they give you a special adapter for your vacuum line, it keeps the canister under water, since the canister always wants to float and cause cavitation, as long as it stays underwater, the cavitation stays to a minimum. My Polaris Maxx is now doing its job properly and hoping for no more line cloggs.
Great product. I use this along with a skimmer sock. It keeps a lot of debris out of my pool filters. I deducted a star for the design. There is a rubber part at the bottom that sometimes needs a little coaxing to work. The canister must be full of water, upright and in the pool or it will suck air. It cannot turn on its side. As long as you fill it with water and ensure it is upright, it works well.
Vortex is REAL this is a must have especially if your skimmer has lower suction So my pool copings are beginning to crumble and drop concrete in my pool on a house I just bought. This has been a frustration thinking concrete is flowing into my filter causing more damage and making me backwash a lot to clear clogs. I plugged this leaf canister in and have not had to clear my lines since the large debris is collected VERY nicely and this product has saved me hours per week. Better than the Hayward leaf canisters! I've used the Hayward leaf canisters prior to this Zodiac Cyclonic leaf canister...and all I can say is that I much prefer this design over the Hayward. The Hayward lays sideways in your pool, and as a result, part of the seal at the top of the Hayward canister is out of the water. That leads inevitably to air getting in the canister and thus your pool system. This cyclonic canister from Zodiac is completely different. Solid product that works best with this simple fix We recently purchased a home with a pool which had an older version of this canister; we bought this new canister to replace it and have used it now for about five weeks.My review consists of (1) the PROS, (2) the main CON, and (3) a super simple fix you can do to eliminate the CON.
