Yes, I would absolutely recommend Dr. Mclawhorn, and I have done so. He did my hip surgery and corrected a limp. I'm forever grateful.
Had my second tkr with dr Mclawhorn he did a great job !! I’m 2 months out and feel great ,no more pain back to working out Would recommend him 100%
Dr McLawhorn is an excellent surgeon who did my hip replacement and he exceeded my expectations as to what to expect and the actual outcome of my surgery. My recovery went quicker than expected as I previously had severe pain in my right hip and a significant limp when walking. Dr McLawhorn did an anterior hip replacement which went very well and I highly recommend him. I should have had met Dr McLawhorn sooner and not put off doing my hip replacement. One of the best!
My hip replacement with Dr. McLawhorn went very smoothly due to his professionalism and detailed instructions and information. Being a scientist and detail oriented I very much appreciated this. He is also very pleasant and welcomes questions. One never feels rushed. His team is professional and knowledgeable as well. The staff and floor at HSS Stamford was excellent. Thanks to all but especially to Dr. McLawhorn.
Dr Mclawhorn did my hip replacement last week. He is a perfectionist in a very positive way. It seems that his skill as a surgeon is near perfect. My recovery has been so quick that part of it has to be because of his ability . I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a hip replacement.
I am thrilled with my two new knees. With significant arthritis, I hadnt been able to walk without a painful limp or climb stairs for over five years. At age 70, I am now walking with my old youthful gait and look forward to many more years of hiking and snow shoeing. Dr. McLawhorn and his staff couldnt be more professional, organized, diligent about cleanliness, and highly skilled at joint replacement. I was in the hospital for one night and able to walk 4 hours after surgery. The surgery is significant but the few weeks of... read more
I have the highest regard for Dr. McLawhorn and his staff. I had a total right hip replacement and had virtually no pain. Now I am walking 2 miles a day and increasing weekly. The staff made everything go extremely smoothly. Because I split my time between New York and Vermont they organized 4 pre-op appointments in a 4 hour period. He is a man of few words but all of them count and all of them turn out to be true. I felt confident I could trust him as soon as I had my first appointment. He allayed all of my fears and is an ... read more
I am in my late 50's and very active. I received a hip replacement from Dr. McLawhorn and have nothing but good things to say about him, HSS and his practice. Never having had surgery before, I was understandably nervous but he and his staff explained everything thoroughly, were very patient with all my questions and made me feel at ease every step of the way. Eight months later and I am walking 30-40 miles a week with no pain and a much improved quality of life.
I am 68 and very active. I developed hip and knee pain in April of 2019. I tried stretching, rest and physical therapy. The problem deteriorated to the point that getting dressed was excruciating. Dr McLawhorn replaced the hip in November of last year. I followed all recommendations for post surgical activity, and was riding a bike, playing pickleball, and power walking within a few months. I have many friends who have had hip and knee replacements, but no one has come close to the quality of recovery and agility I regained.
