Minimally invasive hip replacements are his specialty. Dr. McLawhorn is expert in this, easy to talk to, patient, & answers all questions. He said--follow his post-op instructions & 6 weeks later, you'll be ready to resume most activities ( the other ones? Give it a couple more months). He was right & I'm proof. Dr. McLawhorn replaced my hip for me, along with 3 other people I know. We are all thrilled with the outcome! He is very easy to talk with, welcomes questions, is thoughtful and considerate in his responses, explains procedures with as much detail as you need. He replaced both of my knees with a minimum amount of pain and a fast recovery. The best.
I highly recommend Dr. McLawhorn. He did a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago and I’ve had an amazing recovery with minimal pain.
Received a THR of the right hip after years of being in pain and discomfort. Dr. McLawhorn was very thorough and exact in his description of the surgery and execution. I realized immediately that the pain/discomfort I had prior to surgery was gone. I am so grateful to Dr. McLawhorn and the surgical team. You will not go wrong having Dr. MacLawhorn as your surgeon!
Dr McLawhorn is a phenomenal orthopedic surgeon. I needed a left knee replacement, he spent time with me explaining the procedure, the recovery time and recovery expectations. He told me up front what things I would find difficult to do (ie: going downstairs) and how long it would take to get back to “normal”. He and his team are so skilled and exacting in their practice that I had complete confidence in them. Besides being experts in their profession, they are also kind and caring. Dr. McLawhorn changed my life. I suffered with arthritic knees for many years and by the time I arrived at his office I was using a walker and not able to do the simplest of tasks. The doctor was highly informative about the surgery and the outcome of the surgery. His staff was always responsive to my questions or issues. He and his team at HSS were outstanding.
