My entire process was quick and seamless. I had my first appointment with Dr. McLawhorn in mid-April and was scheduled for hip replacement surgery in early May. I have my left hip replacement surgery 6 weeks ago with Dr. McLawhorn. From the time I came to see him all my fears were eased by his compassionate, kind and caring demeanor. Having the procedure performed by a highly skilled surgeon was truly wonderful. It was amazing that I experienced no pain and I could walk immediately after the surgery. Dr. McLawhorn and his staff could not have made my Total Hip Replacement surgery easier for me. It has been one year since my surgery, and I am delighted by the improvement in the physical quality of my life. I had total confidence in Dr. McLawhorn and his staff at HSS and they delivered. My hip replacement is superb! Dr McLawhorn is an incredible surgeon! I had a THR done with the anterior approach and just one week after surgery I knew the pain I had prior to surgery was gone! Everything was done with highest quality and precision and meaningful redundancy such that errors and misunderstandings are almost entirely excluded. Dr. McLawhorn just completed a hip replacement for me and I had had one five years before on my other hip. Dr. McLawhorn was accessible, informative, kind, attentive, professional and the surgery he performed was amazing.
