After interviewing three surgeons I picked Dr. McLawhorn for a total knee replacement. Many years ago I had an unsuccessful reconstruction surgery on my right knee. When I came to Dr McLawhorn, my knee was bow legged, I was walking with a cane and a limp. Knee replacement January 2024. Just completed my 6 week evaluation and ready to resume a normal life. At 6 weeks posts surgery I am already ahead of where I was before surgery. Glad I didn't wait any longer.
If it is possible to have a wonderful experience with hip replacement this was. Dr. McLawhorn and his staff were great. I felt very taken care of, always someone quickly available to answer a question. I highly recommend HSS and Dr. McLawhorn.
I had a hip replacement done by Dr McLawhorn in November 2023. I could not have had a better experience. He is an excellent surgeon who listened and made this experience a success. His entire staff at HSS and at Stamford hospital were fantastic. So professional and top notch!! Wish I did it years ago!!

The team at HSS and Stamford Hospital are efficient, knowledgable and friendly with a successful smooth process from preoperative care through recovery. Absolutely impeccable care.

Each team member did an excellent job, The entire experience was a team effort and was patient-focused. Each team member gave their name and what they were there to do- even if it was to lead you down the hall. All questions were answered, and the documentation you went home with answered them all again- including the ones you hadn't yet known to ask.
