I had a bid from another mover, they said they could come close to matching it, as well as be safer (during Covid-19) and more professional. They hide MANY costs. They moved my 1 bedroom apartment 1.1 miles and charged me $757. Part of that was $54 in gas. For a mile drive. They also charged me for supplies which I don't get. A bait and switch scam. Actual price was over double the bid for moving. I called three times to talk to the manager, every time I called I was told he was out and he would call me on Monday. By Tuesday I didn't receive a call would so I would try again and get the same run-around with the same empty promise of a call back. I feel there business model is a bait and switch and then ignoring the customer until they stop trying to reach our for help and understanding.
They came out and gave me an est. and I showed the associate EXACTLY what I wanted them to move. I moved 1/2 a mile away to downsize. After agreeing to the terms of half a truck, they sent out three guys due to the gun safe and piano. Est. was to move big / heavy stuff ONLY and they DID NOT move the dog house I built, not sure why they couldn't move it with three guys?? Are you kidding! They are thieves. My $285 bid was over $700 at the end After they have loaded. They drove their big truck to my house in spit of the fact I was using UPack and they charged me $65 for gas to drive 6 miles! They prey on vulnerable single, older women. Beware! I'd out a skull and cross bones if there was one for a rating. The manager was a conniving crook.
This is really the worst moving experience I have had, I chose AMS because of the Google Reviews. However, those guys are dishonest, they took way many breaks and are unwilling to count them, and they even had a couple of my items damaged. The company also makes the whole process very inconvenient for claiming for the damage.
Do not use this company unless you get a firm bid first. Actually, find someone else. They charged by the hour and the men were extremely slow. Extremely. I needed my home office furniture moved. They moved the same furniture 18 months ago but charged 50% more this time. $656 to move one room from Kuna to Eagle. They didnt disclose having a fuel charge, $18 for tape. I should have checked Yelp before hiring these guys. It took them 8.5 hours to load and unload a 4 room apartment that had already been packed and wrapped. When we finally got to our new address we just had them dump everything in the house and we placed and unpacked ourselves. That when we discovered all the chips, scratches and damage. Granted they were moving out of a 2nd floor apartment but they did so at a glacial pace. Very disorganized and slow. It ended up costing over $1100!! I just about died.
They are not honest. They charge a deposit and don't give it back if you cancel. They add fees not provided in their original email.
Do not recommend this company for your moving needs. Ever! Go with the neighbor kids helping you to move before hiring this company. Personal property was damaged in the move, to which I was told would be reported and financial allowance made. This was never done. When I called to speak with the manager about this and expressed my frustrations in being lied to about this, he told me he didn't appreciate my accusation, even though the proof of the lie couldn't be argued.
