I canceled my moving after the movers arrived and was informed of the many added costs that would be involved. When I checked my credit card entries on line I noticed they had charged me $150 on the day I made the appointment for the movers.
This was my first time to use a moving service. The approximate quote was $500 for the move process. On this initial call they stated that it includes wrapping furniture and to not even empty the dresser drawers etc. because they will be wrapped and hauled off as one piece. They asked how many TVs to move. Asked for a deposit and I paid it week later. They told me one thing about the cost, and then charged me $1600.00+ for moving a 1 bed apartment to move about 10 miles.
Purposely slow. 1 bedroom apartment to storage down the road was over $600.
Be very careful in the hidden costs. The move ended up costing two hundred dollars more than originally told.
Careless. They shoved my upright freezer through the door and dented the front of it pretty bad with the screen door latch. Ruined the top of a fireplace cabinet and beat up and scuffed a piece of workout equipment after I told them it should be wrapped. Crew leader did not want to be there, or should I say that's how he made it seem. Had to move the truck up to make backing in easier to access after the front was full.
