Now that some time has passed, I have decided to share what my experience was like at Animal Care Center with Avery. Friday July 26th, I received a text that my next door neighbor found Avery in their backyard. I’ve personally been to multiple vets all over bay county trying to find the PERFECT one for my two boys. I went here just for general shots and never felt a connection. It was very robotic and expensive compared to other places I’ve been. This was a few years ago. I went back again with my best friend and her cat as she was having some issues and I wanted to see first hand what was being done. My granddaughters cat is in critical condition and they will not take a credit card payment over the phone from our family member who is currently out of town. By the time she returns and can pay in person, it will be too late. But they are not willing to make an exception. Bottom line...money more important than an animal’s life. We certainly weren’t looking for free service. It’s funny how I pay for things using a credit card over the phone all the time.
Our dog was not a patient of this vet but we called at 12:30 am for an emergency visit. Brett met us at the door, helped us carry her in and immediately began procedures to save her life. Unbeknownst to us she had an enlarged heart and an extreme amount of fluid on her lungs. We had taken her to a different vets office earlier that day and they were completely oblivious to her condition. Appt reminder? Cancel - I will never take my pet to you or your incompetent, uncaring staff again. All your company is concerned with is profit. No aftercare explained.. when initial stitches which weren't put in appropriately for area my dog was injured in (right, front chest / shoulder), came out.. I brought my dog in with breathing issues when he stopped eating just a few days after he had already spent a few days at this clinic (and then a few more at a specialty clinic in Tallahassee, being treated for a first round of pneumonia and inflammatory bowel disease). There was a tech and a doctor on call and they were already seeing another dog who was clearly in bad shape as we saw blood dripping through the lobby. If you would like expensive prices for less than mediocre services, this is your place! I have been waiting for a call back about switching my cats antibiotics because, now, she has diarrhea (for TWO days)!! I called twice and left messages! Do yourself a favor, unless it is an emergency , find another Veterinarian!
We found my cat after she was missing after the hurricane for 7 weeks. She was nearly starved, had a huge wound. The vet, Stephen G. Carroll, didn't check her over, check her temp, clean her, pretty much gave us two medications and sent us on our way. But not before charging us $350. I am so disappointed. Made me feel like she was a loss cause and that she might die. It was an awful experience after the traumatic night we had finding my cat in that condition.
