I brought my cat to be neutered. I was told he needed a series of vaccinations before being neutered. They lie about how much money your visit will be until you are about to walk out (i found out this is a regular thing for them to do to patients after checking reviews about them, which seem to be very similar to my experience) After being misquoted several times on vaccination prices, I have now spent over $600 on vaccinations on my already healthy cat and they want another couple hundred to have him neutered which I can no... read more

I love the vets at Animal Kind. They have always been knowledgeable, responsive to questions & concerns & compassionate. That being said, AK must be under new management because their policies have made my life with geriatric cats VERY stressful. AK charges exorbitant fees for medications. (They once charged me $6 per syringe of .02ml of a drug when I know the entire bottle - which contains about 12 weeks worth of that amount, costs them a mere $15- this for a cat that will need it everyday for the rest of his life). Please keep in mind this is a general vet. If your pet has critical issues please see a specialist. I was misguided with my pets treatment and lost precious time resulting in my pets untimely death. They are very nice for general issues and check ups, but not for anything serious. Make sure you get a second opinion.

Beware!! If your pet needs a shot, maybe. If your pet is sick- do yourself a favor and go to someone who knows what they are doing! They misdiagnosed my cat after thousands of dollars of testing. She severely suffered and I had to put her down due to their severe lack of experience.

There are far better vet hospitals in brooklyn. The lack of integrity and professionalism and violation of NYS' requirements led to the death of my dear pet and the severe injury of another.

These guys are a bunch of money grubbers and not very "Kind" at all. I went in to buy some capstar de-flea pills to match with a flea bath and frontline plus to give them the full treatment after the dogs got some hitchhikers from the local dog park. I called in advance to see if they had some, they did so I walked in to buy one pill for each (@17.00 a pop). My animals have been patients at Animal Kind for serveral years and until now I had favorable things to say about the care they received. In June I took one of my cats in because he was straining to urinate. He was seen by Dr. Gibson who is one of the nicest people you want to take care of your loved one. I've been using Animal Kind for a few years now. I had no problem with their services with my darling cat who had to be put to sleep in May 2012. However, I adopted a kitten from them in August 2012 and have only experienced unacceptable and unprofessional behaviors: I wasn't told my cat had a condition necessitating expensive prescription food until I the day I picked him up; I was quoted a very high price of a case of food which I can get on-line for half the price; they wanted me to pay for neutering him in September 2... read more

The vets themselves have always been okay (I've used them for about 15 years), but the front desk people are absolutely horrible. And I don't just mean less than helpful. Brusque, snippy, downright uncaring. Most recently, I called to take advantage of the in-home end-of-life service they specifically offer on their website (and I had used in the past) and the woman said, "you'll have to call back tomorrow to see if they time for that."
