Bacchus should be one of the two or three primier restaurants in Milwaukee. It should be consistantly spot on and amazing every day. I have seen Bacchus have its ups and downs over the years. I took a group in June and had a good experience. Went again mid-July and was disappointed. Neither my scallop appetizer nor my filet entree came close to the way the dishes were described on the menu. I didn't want to spoil a birthday dinner by complaining.

The table we had faced Lake Michigan; we were surprised there are a limited number of tables with this view in the room we were assigned. The menu had a variety of entrees and appetizers and one could order a main course portion of an appetizer. My wife was pleased with her scallops as I was with the lamb meatballs and paperdalle pasta. The peach salad we had was superb. The portions are small and one easily can have room for dessert. The diner that wants large portions maybe disappointed here. We enjoyed this restaurant and... read more

My wife and I went to Bacchus to celebrate our anniversary and the staff did an amazing job making the evening feel special. Every staff member said happy anniversary, and for dessert they used chocolate to write out happy anniversary on the hazelnut the plate the molten chocolate hazelnut cake. Best lamb chop I've had since we were in Italy.

Tonight we did not feel the food was as good as it usually is. The spinach salad was so coated with mustard viniagrette that it totally overpowered the other flavors. It appeared as if this was the way the dish was supposed to be prepared, but I didn't care for it. The tuna entree had been prepared with a tuna filet that had a large vein of gristle running through it, which made it very hard to cut and chew. It also didn't have much flavor, other than the accompanying sauce. However, the service was wonderful as usual. Overa... read more

We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary here after perusing the online menu. The new summer small plate menu was amazing. We had 5 selections, and couldn't have been happier with the flavor, portion size, and value. I only wish the scallops in both dishes that had them were larger, as they were perfectly cooked. Service was superb, and we even had a small note from the staff welcoming us and congratulating us on our special day. Very nice touch.

Food and accomondations were the best. Couldn't ask for a better night out to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversay. Nice touch with the dessert spelling out "Happy Anniversay" with choclate topping for the ice cream.

We had a lovely anniversary dinner - the food was amazing, the service attentive but not hovering, and the wine list very impressive. Although the prices are quite high, they accepted (1) my $20 off birthday card (the reason we went); (2) a $25 certificate we'd earned from previous Bartolotta trips; and (3) a $25 off a bottle of wine certificate, despite the fact that all three certificates said, in the fine print, "Not to be used with other promotions." The fact that they DID accept all three meant that we bought a bottle o... read more
