Took the wife out for Valentines and it was our first time dining at Bacchus. I tried the 3 course prix fixe menu, wife got the fillet mingon. Overall I was very happy with the food and staff, but a few small issues did come up. My surf and turf fillet with crab cake wasn't really deserving of the price paid. The steak was fairly average and didn't appear to have any seasoning, while my wife's fillet entree was much more in line with what I expected at the price point. Fantastic service and food! We had a perfect Valentine's dinner/evening!
We had a prix fixe complete with wine pairings for each of the three courses. The selections includes a bay scallop appetizer which was fantastic, a filet mignon with crabcake, and a deliciouls chocolate cake dessert. The wine selections were perfect for each course. The resaurant is a little pricey, but the quality is excellent.
This restaurant is always at the top of its game. If you wish to take someone to a fine dining experience to show them that you appreciate them or think they are special, this is the place to go in Milwaukee. It is elegant but never pretentious. The chef creates an exciting menu and the food is always prepared well and with flare. The wait staff is consistently the best I have ever had; there when you need them and attentive, but never intrusive or obsequious. Food and service were excellent helped by the attentiveness and expertise of the wait staff who attended us.
Food was amazing. The wait staff was very knowledgable. The restaurant was very easy to find and has close parking if you chose not to valet. I would definately go back.
Excellent service and very helpful with any questions or requests. Small plates are delicious, we had the marinated olives, lobster bisque, and mushroom risotto fritters. Pick from any salad, but the spinach with REAL bacon bits and a poached egg was unreal. The yoke acts as a wonderful lubricant! Entrees looked great, tasted great, and didn't leave any leftovers. It's not our first time at Bacchus. As usual, food did not disappoint. Service was attentive but not smothering (for whatever reason, we waited over 30 minutes for dessert). "Ice water" was warm. Restaurant was very busy due to Valentine's. Oh well.
Excellent food, waiter was very helpful, classy but not pretentiuos, expensive but not a rip-off, well worth the money. We will be back.
