Haven't been to Bacchus in at least two years because of a couple of bad service experiences. Recently talked to someone who said they had gotten their act together, so we gave them another try. Must say everything was top notch this time. We were seated right away and the service was excellent. The food has always been good and that was certainly true this time. Long a stellar dining spot in Milwaukee, Bacchus continues to take its menu to new levels of interest and excellence. If you haven't been back lately, you are in for a treat. The new array of small plates offers a delicious chance to set up your own tasting of gourmet treats, while the entree menu continues to offer all the old favorites. Excellent restaurant. Having recently moved from NYC, this is as close as we've found to that calibre restaurant in Milwaukee... we'll be back!

We had such a wonderful dinner. The food was fantastic, portion sizes perfect and the service was great!
Service was top notch. Food was good. Started off with an excellent soup. But my entree was oversalted to the point of almost not being able to eat it, I did mention it was oversalted to the service staff when they cleared our dishes, didn't really ask us mid-meal how things were (I didn't tell them it was almost inedible as I didn't send it back so I felt that was my fault) and they took it off my bill, which I was not expecting and certainly high level of service for doing that. The food was tasty and well-prepared, although the menu wasn't as creative as it has been on previous visits to Bacchus.
Milwaukee does have more fine dining establishments then it gets recognized for and at the top of my list is Bacchus. It is a great mix of class and yet appealing to both young and young at heart. It is vibrant enough for those who seek some energy but not overbearing but also classy enough that you can expect a romantic experience without a very loud sound level. We had a fabulous experience. I had the pork belly small plate and it was exceptional. My husband had the foie gras and it was delicious. My veal chop was cooked to perfection. My husbands filet was very good. Oval, out waiter, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
