Beds were comfortable, staff was nice. Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds comfortable. Cons: The room could have been cleaner, there was dust on the tables and lamps, and streaks in the bathroom. I prefer to have a door on the shower. Location: We didn't get in until almost 9pm, there's not much open at that time for a bit to eat. I made a mistake on my reservation, reserving a king room. The staff was wonderful and changed my room to a double queen. The linens were nice and the bed comfortable.

Bear River Resort Pros: Liked the underground parking, cleanliness of the grounds, hotel and room; restaurant and hotel staff friendly and efficient. Cons: Controlling the cigarette smoke coming from the casino. Location: Cute little towns like Loleta and Ferndale are worth the short drive; Eureka has more restaurants and shopping. Very enjoyable stay; beautiful suite with view of the ocean. Staff went out of their way to provide extra service (we needed extra hangers and a later-than-usual room cleaning) and they did it wit... read more

Comfortable, clean and good value My girlfriend and I stayed at this place for a night during a road trip we were taking to San Francisco and Yosemite. We were very pleased with the quality of our room and the quick service at the front desk when we arrived at the hotel exhausted at 11 pm. In the morning we also had a nice and reasonably priced breakfast at their restaurant before getting on the road again.

Nice place, but not very kid friendly Nice hotel. We enjoyed the pool and the view. On the flip side, this hotel definitely needed more hotel parking. I had to park far away lug my infant and all her gear to the hotel. I also didn't like that there wasn't a bathtub. I had to give my baby a shower which was tricky. Also no minifridge. Otherwise it was nice, calm, quiet and comfortable. I would probably stay here again.

Bear River floats our boat. Location: Out on the coast all by itself with out of site views. The hotel was the best we have stayed in in years. The staff was organized, attentive and very friendly. The room was superb with plenty of room for rest and recreation. The restaurant was great. The restaurant staff was efficient, the food was prepared to my satisfaction and it made me want to eat there again and again. We will visit this hotel and restaurant again and we will recommend it to family and friends.

Good Price/Room, AC Made Loud Noise at Night Pros: The air and heating unit sounded like it was dripping water and being banged on all night. Despite that it would have been a very pleasant stay. We went because the lower price and how updated the hotel/casino was. Unfortunately I can't give it a 5 because the air and heating unit sounded like it was dripping water and being banged on all night to the point that it kept us up all night. We told the staff when we checked out the next day and they just flippantly said it was b... read more

Great for a smoker, disappointing otherwise. I could smell smoke in my non-smoking room. I smelled smoke in the hallways. My late arrival meant I had to cross the ashtray (aka Casino) to get something to eat. I should've stayed elsewhere.
