Birthday and I requested a quiet table not a high table by bar. Hard to find Walter to pay for meal. Salads ok small portions
We had a 6:00 reservation and were running a few minutes late. Called to let them know and they said no problem we will switch you to 6:15. Showed up at 6:10 and they said they only had an outdoor table. It was 50 degrees outside and those tables are for walk ins. Said it was a 20 minute wait otherwise. They obviously gave away our table despite us calling to say we would be a little late (10 minutes). We spent $80 (2 people) in less than an hour because it was too cold to eat outside. The first table we were given was upstairs way in the back. We felt like we were being punished and stuck in a corner. We asked for another table and the response was - oh but you can see everything from up here. Yeah, if we stood on the table! The next table we were offered was right smack in the middle of traffic - another no. I asked for the table in the front and the response was - oh that's for four not three. Two of the four dinners had to be sent back. Lousy attitude by the waiter. Very disappointing.
We visited this restaurant while visiting the Sarasota area. Two in our group were gluten free. They brought out both of their meets which were labeled on the menu as gluten free with bread crumbs on them. It was one of them that noticed the error and notified our waitress. Of the 4 of use, 3 were ill that night after our meal. Not sure why but they each has meals with a cream sauce where I had a burnt porkchop. Not my idea of a great night out and not a place i would recommend
This maybe an unusual “five star” rating story, but worthwhile of any undecided diner’s (should I go or not) of this establishment’s read! I ate a very late lunch/very early dinner (albeit 445pm). I ordered the special for the evening. the “grouper in a bag with seasonal vegetables.” The meal came after a little more than usual wait. Menu was very limited for Valentines Day. Very Disappointing. Our favorite dish was not available.
There are much better places to eat in Sarasota. We were one of the first diners seated at 5:30. We were seated outside which was great. Inside was very noisy. Our roasted oyster appetizer arrived stone cold. Couldn’t find our server to get a fresh serving. A passing server returned them to the kitchen and then our zucchini fries arrived - except we wanted them as a side. Hot oysters finally served and then we waited 20 minutes for our entrees. We had a late reservation—1:00pm and it still took half an hour to get food after we ordered. We ask for bread when we ordered and when food( 2 salads) came and NEVER got any. Then they told Open Table we did not show up.
