We are a family of three. Our son is 8 years old. As New Yorkers we are slightly jaded about restaurants. But we LOVE the Brooklyn Diner. It is our go to place before any Broadway show we have tickets to as a family. Our son loves the milkshake menu. A fun, funky place - one of the better Times Square options, where there are a lot of hotel restaurants and chains, for New Yorkers. It's a tourist concept on purpose, but the food really is iconic New York diner and fun. The big hot dogs and other diner options are good reliable options.
Great kid friendly dinner between shows but make sure you make reservations.
Before show dinner
Generous portions. We had breakfast and it was good. Very good. Prices seem to reflect the big portions.
There is no children’s menu nor anything on the adult menu appealing to children. An enormous hot dog for $20 that was so big they couldn’t get their mouth around it. The server was wonderful.
Wonderful noodle Kugal and matzo ball soup. Pastrami sandwich was not worth the price but still good. Will definitely go back!
Our waiter was very accommodating and personable. The chicken parm and chicken Alfredo were both gigantic portions and came out piping hot! The milkshakes are worth every penny - delicious, fun & huge!
Our meal although simple soup burger and wine was perfect pre Broadway theater. Dan our waiter was superb. This is our “go to” place for early curtains (7 pm).
