We loved this place! The food was delicious...the chicken pot pie was outrageously good! The hamburgers were great, and don't forget to order a shake. The ambiance was cute, and is so close to the theaters. Great place to eat!
This was my second time here in the past month. The food was great (tho a bit pricey) but I guess it's fairly standard for the location but not what you think of when you think 'diner.' The portions are generous -- try the salmon in the clay pot or the chicken pot pie (it tends to sell out). Everything was great but my coffee at the end of the meal was lukewarm. when i asked for a hot refill, it too was lukewarm so i didn't give it five stars. It's great for a pre-theatre meal especially with the early (7pm) curtain.
food was good, but priced for times square. layout was strange, but booths made it more private than most nyc places that have tables on top of one another. i liked that i could make a reservation on a sunday afternoon and not need to wait in a line!
This is an ideal spot for a quick meal before the theatre. The service was a bit spotty on this last visit, but the food is sill good with a menu that would satisfy many.
Love the Brooklyn Diner. A must for breakfast any time I'm visiting New York City. Tony Bennett French toast is out of this world with the right combination of cinnamon, raisins and pecans. The service is outstanding and if you can get a seat looking out towards Times Square it is a great place to people watch.
I usually don't expect much from a restaurant in Times Square. Usually high prices for mediocre food and bad service. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Brooklyn Diner. We went for lunch before a matinee. Service was very, very friendly and helpful. I got a kale caesar salad with salmon. It was very good with nice, young crisp kale. The rest of my party was also pleased with their meal. Price was a little high for lunch, but than again, this is in the heart of Times Square. I will definitely make this my Times Square go-... read more
Service was very good. Restaurant very very crowded, but not that long of a wait if no reservations. Huge portions. We had reservations but got there way early. We were still seated quickly ahead of others with no reservations. Make reservations and arrive with an empty stomach.
Come here pre/post theater for comfort food: fabulous chicken soup, pastrami, eggs - and I could simply have the noodle kugel for an appetizer, main course or dessert!! The service is excellent and the portions huge. Come alone for a seat at the counter or with friends to discuss the latest show just down the block. Fun and informal.
Celebrated Birthday breakfast here early on Saturday morning. Very attentive service and a full breakfast menu is offered. Was much busier after 10.00am. So go early!
