Our lack of wait time, our terrific waiter and the warmth of the greetings and other staff attitudes plus the atmosphere and food , both taste and presentation made this a hit . we will return ! so perfectly located .
Great breakfast, large portions, but not inexpensive. A diner menu but white tablecloths, nicely dressed waiters.

A friend from out of town wanted to check this place out as they had come for a lunch time and found the food they had quite good. We decided to go there for dinner and I wasn't impressed with the food. The menu was short which was nice, but the selection was pretty regular, nothing exotic on the menu beyond burgers, chicken and salmon. We were in New York for 5 days, and were looking for a diner that typified the city...we found The Brooklyn Diner and ate there 3 times! The breakfasts were amazing, and huge portions that set us up for the day. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere bustling and vibrant. The fact that Jerry Seinfeld was sat at the next table was a massive bonus - and proof if it were needed that the Brooklyn Diner really is THE place to go!
Our food was fantastic. The menu was varied and vast without being overwhelming or pretentious. It was our first visit but we were received and treated like treasured regulars. I look forward to a return visit and highly recommend to all.
Brooklyn Diner is a bit spendy-er than your average NYC diner, but it's conveniently located for those late night meet-ups with out of town guests staying in the Times Square area. We had wonderful food & a terrific server. The only wrinkle in our entire visit was waiting over 7 minutes to be acknowledged at the front door, whilst the host/manager was dealing with an issue at a table in the room. Menu has recently changed and is not as good. Salad I usually get was not as good. Waiter wrote everything down but server served ALL wrong places and didn't realize until everyone was eating. It took 1 hour from ordering time until food was on our table. Not great!! Our party of 8 was left unhappy!
This was our first time at the Brooklyn Diner in this location amid the crushing crowds of Times Square. It is a surprisingly civilized shelter for a very good lunch before a matinee show. We both had burgers and fries and everything was very enjoyable. Service is friendly and efficient.
